thanks for the very informative article! I erroneously thought when you mentioned the Al purity you were referring to the cans, not the foils used for the anodes/cathodes (though it seems as though the aluminum oxide present in the cans would also be dissolving in the electrolyte). After reading the article, I could only assume the cans are also a high purity Al as well. Like you said, definitely more than just electrolytes are to blame. Needless to say, I saved that article for future reference! Hats off to you, sir!
