    Capacitor help please.

I am looking for a capacitor by Rubycon the part number I have been given is a,

    6.3MCZ1800M8X20

    Rated Voltage 6.3
    Capacitance 1800uf
    Tolerance 20%
    Temp Range -40 to 105c
    Rated Ripple current 2350
    ESR12
    Diameter 8mm
    Height 20mm
    K vent on Top
    Through Hole 2 pin.

I have searched everywhere and I did come close but the Rated ripple Current was different and so was the Height and Diameter, but could I get away with trying any of the two capacitors that I was lead to believe may be ok.

I went to a website called farnell in the UK and did a product search for,

    1744874 and 1800609

    Would they be any good?

I could basically cry because Im so sick of searching, lol.

Thanks Guys for any help given.

    Re: Capacitor help please.

i think i read in other post around that the MCZ series was an OEM series, but, i a m not sure.

if you are tryin to replace a low esr cap with those specs i guess u could get it rubycon or not... about those u asked, i dont know their specifics but if they are 1800/6.3 and low esr then i guess they are good, as long as they fit...

also, im not good on advises on this issue, you may want to wait for better replies.

    peace.

      Re: Capacitor help please.

MCZ is not OEM only. - I think you are thinking of MFZ.

The Electrolytic caps with ESR that low or better are:
      Rubycon MCZ [obviously]
      Samxon GC or GA Series
      Nichicon HN or HZ Series
Chemicon KZJ is also but KZJ have heat issues. [Don't use them.]

This part number comes from thecapking.com. Badcaps.net has these as well, but they are completely sold out and won't have any for the next couple of months (see badcaps.net - announcement right on the front).

Thanks for the replies guys, in my first post I mentioned farnell and the part numbers would these caps do I need the specific ones I already have.

I just noticed the announcement, thanks for the info.

Farnell gives you a link to the data sheets.
Look at Ripple, more [bigger number] is better.
Neither of those Part numbers are as good as MCZ.

Is it no harm to replace with capacitor without ripple current rating?
                by chth96
When I tried to repair LG 29 inch CRT TV, I found that the ESR value of samyoung SMS capacitor(160v 2.2uf), which is very close to D1879 transistor, is 6 ohm.

Judging from above ESR Meter Table,I think It is necessary to replace this sms capacitor. So I visited local electronics shop, and I purchased 160v 2.2uf rubycon YK capacitor.
But when I browse through rubycon YK datasheet,I found that there is no ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf specification. But On the contrary, I found 39 mA ripple current rating for 160v 2.2uf SMS capacitor.
                Rubycon YK DataSheet (b...

                Cyberpower 1500AVR UPS repair
                by quickname
I'd like to start out by thanking this forum for providing the info to be able to repair my 15 year old CP1500AVRLCD UPS. Here is all the info I gathered during my trouble-shooting and re-capping.

Like clockwork, I've had to replace the SLA batteries every 4 years. It was about that time and the UPS was acting like it needed new batteries... randomly shutting off with AC present, not being able to charge fully, and poor runtime when AC was removed. So, I replaced the batteries but noticed that it was not charging properly.

I decided to verify that the batteries were...

Repair of Sign WiFi Smart Plug PCB: SA-P302A v1.2 due to bad caps - with schematic
                by Per Hansson
I have repaired a Sign WiFi Smart Plug with model number: SNSM-WASINGLE sold by Spares Nordic AB in Sweden.
The fault condition was that the device gave no signs of life: pressing the push button did not cycle the internal relay and the blue LED did not come on and it was not seen on the WiFi network.
The fault was very simple, capacitor C3 on the PCB with writing "KSJ" and "LOWESR" had literally blown its top off, after replacing it the device works fine again!

As I find linear high voltage regulator designs interesting I drew up the attached schematic...

                RTX 3080 FE Identifying capacitor
                by Prolog
Hi people, I hope this is the correct spot to post this, I'm new to the forum.

I have an RTX 3080 Founders Edition which has a burnt up capacitor (it was in parallel with another capacitor which appears damaged too), so I am hoping to be able to identify the capacitor values and order replacements.

I hope these photos make it clear which component I am referring to:
(yes, the soldering is a bit botched from removing the blown one, I know)

I have found the board schematic (attached), but there does not seem to be a boardview available. I have never...

How can I test non-polarized capacitor?
                by chth96
I desoldered samwha NF capacitor(50v 5.6uf) from PCB circuit of 29inch CRT TV which have symptoms of no display after I heard sound of inrush of current to TV whenever I switch on this television.
I measured ESR value of this non-polarized capacitor(samwha NF capacitor 50v 5.6uf) by means of MESR-100 ESR meter and It displayed 0.3 ohm

And When I measured its capacitance with digital multimeter and LCR-T4 Mega328 meter, It displayed 10uf from DMM and 8uf from LCR-T4 meter.
I found catalogue of samwha capacitor(samwha-catalogue_3.pdf file), which is attached to this thread,...
