Hi all, I have a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7 type 20R1, motherboard model NM-C661 (which is why I believe this is the right thread despite being a Carbon).
The laptop lost power in the middle of a BIOS update and was (presumably) corrupted. Now it does not turn on at all (no display, no fan), with three flashes of the power LED along with an amber charging LED when plugged in.
Model: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 7
Type: 20R1-S05A00
Serial: PF-21E8NG
Motherboard: NM-C661
I've attached the dump I was able to take. I was unable to figure out... -

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 8 - 20UA - 2100 Detection Error on Storage Device
Hi all,
I have a Thinkpad X1 Carbon that does not want to recognize any SSD I put in it. I have verified that the M.2 drive works in another Laptop and reflashed the BIOS with the Lenovo provided ISO file from here however the issue still stands.
Could reflashing the BIOS with a dedicated programmer fix this issue or what else is there to check?
I have attached a schematic and boardview pdf in case it helps anyone.

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon 14282 Bios
Hi I have a Thinkpad X1 Carbon 14282-2m that cycles on powerup. Fan and KB lights ramp up then down. I suspect it is a bios corruption problem. I have tried 16MB files for other similar boards (12xxx) but worst results (nothing comes on at all).
If anyone has this file, I would be grateful.
Thanks,... -

Ok, so I have Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 5
type: 20K4-01XUS
Serial PF-0VQQ8V
i've been searching this thread for a patched version and the only one i found the link said invalid file or something.
i've been using the patched bios posted to clear supervisor passwords on two dozen laptops now.
for some reason, autopatch fails with bad bin file every attempt. but i can dump the original bios, program the patched version (downloaded from this thread), remove the password, reprogram the original dump, then celebrate.
i was also able to use...Leave a comment:

Lenovo Thinkpad X1 carbon 11th Gen BIOS problem
Hi everyone.
I have an engineering sample of a Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 11th Gen (TYPE 21HM-2FVT05, S/N PF-40G7CD) with an Intel Core i7 1360P (ES – Intel 0000). Since this is an engineering sample, the BIOS had a massive number of various settings. One day, I was experimenting with the BIOS settings and, after saving them, the laptop stopped booting and played a melody after pressing the power button, signaling error code 0002 (Internal bus error), just like in this post: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...shooting-lapto... -
