Dear all,

I have recently fixed a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 15 ALC6 that was not booting due to a BIOS issue. After flashing the BIOS, the laptop boots up, but hard disk is not recognized in BIOS. Is says "Hard Disk : Not Installed". I have tried with 2 different drives (one that I know is working on another laptop) but I get the same result. I do not know if disks were recognized before I got the laptop and fix it, but I don't see any reason why not. I can boot on USB though.

Here the steps I have taken to fix the laptop:
- downloaded latest BIOS from Lenovo Website...

Hello, I've tried to find it by dumping different BIOSes that you provide, reading several posts without success. The laptop stayed with a black screen after updating the BIOS and it remains like that... I would appreciate it if you could help me please....

Hello everyone.

My issue isn't massive, but I'd like to get this solved since I'm trying to fix a friend's laptop.

A botched BIOS update by Lenovo bricked this laptop, so I used my BIOS programmer to reflash the BIOS on it and saved it from an early demise. All is good now, but the BIOS reports the S/N, MTM and UUID...

Do you have a backup of the original (corrupted) BIOS?

If you do, copy the range listed in post 207 from the linked thread with hex editor from corrupt BIOS to the clean BIOS there, or post your corrupt BIOS in that thread along with the required info (serial, MTM, model), someone will do that for you

If not, try with Golden key...

I had the problem 2 days ago when updating the bios that it froze. Even after a good 5 hours the status has not progressed a bit. After forced shutdown and restart everything stayed black and nothing reacted. Thanks to this forum, I read out the bios with the CH341A and saved the non-functioning ones first. I then uploaded the file from the forum to the bios chip. PC and Windows starts but Win11 complains about the missing key. In the bios the information about serial number, key and so on is missing.
