HiHi everyone,
I'm Mark from Cebu, Philippines. I'm new here in the community, and I'm excited to be part of this forum for technicians. I'm passionate about technology and repairs, and I joined to both share what I know and learn from the experiences of others.
I'm looking forward to exchanging ideas, gaining new skills, and connecting with fellow technicians. Thank you in advance for the warm welcome!

Hi all!
I am a young person who endeavours to learn about tech and work at a small computer shop where we work on desktop PCs, laptops, and other devices. In my free time I mostly game but run a small home server for personal conveniences as well as attempt to build electronics projects like keyboards built on custom PCBs and other less organised electronics. My take on life is to learn about the things I interact with on a daily basis, this means lots of computers and also about cars. This forum has always been a valuable resource to me where I end up in a dead end thanks to those pesky manufacturers who do their best to make it challenging for a small store like us to operate efficiently.
I study engineering though it's still early days and would like to immerse myself in the design of computers systems and processors one of these days.
Thanks for your contributions, I hope to share as much knowledge as I can as I learn more and explore electronics.Leave a comment:

Hello Everyone!
I'm Meroli, and I'm a computer engineer. I've always had a passion for technology and love diving deep into how things work, from hardware to software. I'm excited to be here to learn from all of you and, hopefully, share some of my own knowledge and insights. Looking forward to some great discussions!

Hi... i am 42 years and had first contact to pc with an 486 dx2 66. Did a lot of stuff and tryed replace bios chips in the past. But never with success.
I bought a CH341A Programmer and a pogo-pin-tool for the 6x8. Wanted to get my Dell 5520 back to live. It had a pending firmware update. It was just rebooting and i pulled the power cord, before the firmwareupdate would be able to start. Also the plug of the battery was not sitting correctly, so the 5520 normaly dont begin with an firmware-update.
Thought it might be an bios-issue but dont look like this. Already got a binary file here in Badcaps and have written it to the eeprom, with no success.
Now I have another computer bought cheap over the internet. It had a crashed LCD, which is already repaired but unfortunatelly it has a bios password. Hope to get help here to remove it.
Greetings from Germany... ThoaLeave a comment:

Hey everyone, I'm Chris from Louisiana, USA.
I've always had a passion for technology—if it’s got a circuit and looks fixable, I’m probably tinkering with it. I specialize in smartphone repairs, but I’ve been diving deeper into computer hardware and troubleshooting lately. That's what led me here—to learn, connect, and sharpen my skills alongside people who actually get excited about capacitor quirks and motherboard mysteries. 😄
Looking forward to picking up some tips, sharing what I know, and hopefully not frying too many boards in the process!Leave a comment:

Hi all I've finally ended up at the bottom of the garden in my little 'MANCAVE/HIDEAWAY/WORKSHOP' whereby I have returned to my interest in all things electric/electronic I can dabble with to my hearts content.Leave a comment:

Hi,
Studied Electrical Engineering in the 1990's. Work at a Point-Of-Sale company (R&D) where we designed our own custom motherboards and interfaces for printers, LCD screens, power-management and so on. Moved into computers and eventually cyber security.
Now I have a 9 year old crying about his old laptop that is broken and I must fix it because he doesn't want a newer one. So back to dusting off the old fluke 12 and soldering iron.Leave a comment:

Hi Everyone,
I was able to find a schematic on here for the laptop I'm working on but will post my troubleshooting/findings in the repair section.Leave a comment:

Hello Everyone,
Age 77 - Ouch! Been in electronics since I was 15, in computing and computers generally since 1973. Forgotten much of what I've learned over the years but I doubt if much of it would be useful these days anyway! CP/M, DOS 6, Windows 3.1 anyone?
Now looking to repair a Lenovo T480 laptop and need a circuit diagram (Schematic).Leave a comment:
