Greetings and thanks for accepting me as a member. My name is Roger. I am an Avionics/Calibration technician in Pensacola with 30+ years experience in electronic maintenance. I requested access as I just started a new gig as a part time TV warranty repair tech. I actually have some TV repair experience but from many years back. I worked for Scott Appliance in Memphis Tennessee back in the 80's as an in home TV repair technician. This is a far cry from today's technology and I have a lot i catching up to do. I actually have my first job on an LG 60PZ550 which involves changing the Y sustain board and adjusting VA and VS voltage. Well, that's my story and again, thanks for having me.

        Roger

Hi - My name is Tim and I'm from WI. I love fixing old arcade games, so it seemed logical for me to buy this broken Vizio 32" E320VL LCD TV. I kept stumbling onto this forum via google searches, so it seemed like the right thing to do is register.

Thanks for all of the great information so far!

Hello! Mike from New Jersey here.
Just your average tinkerer/do-it-yourselfer/hobbyist with a desire to learn.
My usual mode of operation is as follows:
                                  -Locate something "broken".
                                  -Attempt to "fix" it.
                                  -Fail.
-Refer to Internet (which, as of late, has led to me Badcaps.net more often than not).

I recently acquired 4 broken LCD TV's, (two of which I have been able to fix thanks to this forum) and I figured it's time to post my introduction.

Thanks for existing and I will do my best to support Badcaps.net's business!

Another FNG - tinkerer, biker, all-around troublemaker!

                                      'Evening all!

I'm new to this forum but been around the 'Net for years on many forums with my "homer308" handle. I've got a cantankerous Philips plasma that thinks it has me beat; however, I resurrected it once, I can do it again! Spent $2K on it back in '06 - figure I'm at over $20 a month just to own this wonderful piece of **** - I meant "technology", not the word you were probably thinking!

Hope to learn a lot here - dunno if you were here the last time it bit the dust!

Thanks for having me - hope to be able to contribute back to the group at some point!

New Members - Hello I'm carrierman. This is my first visit on this site .

I am a retired senior systems engineer with one of the last US owned tire company. Traveled over most of the world for them and enjoyed every minute of it. At the moment I am enjoying the retired life and really enjoying spoiling my grandkids.

I joined this site to enrich my knowledge of things and to learn what makes things work again after they don't.

Hope to have some interaction with other members in the near future.

                                          Hello, all!
Found these forums while looking for advice on fixing a pair of XPS 710 towers I sort of inherited. Never done board-level soldering on something manufactured before, except to scavenge parts... so good thing I've got a practice one. =D

Existing threads are already helping a lot, so here I go!
