I’ve been fixing computers since the Pentium 2 days. At first, I loved disassembling them, and later, I started repairing anything that ran on batteries or had a plug

Hi all! I'm Nik from Argentina. My first computer of my own was a Core2Quad. A beast at the time, I have it laying arround and it still works! Haha.
Now a days, entering the world of flashing bios with my little CH341. Hope I can find help around an, of course, be of help!

My name is ruby and I'm recently married. I love my wife and I try to take care of us the best I can. I like video games and learning about things I like. I have a cat and he spends time with me all day long. I have lots of projects that I want to work on so they can become a reality but I have to take things step by step. I have no idea what I am doing in most situations so I have to learn from my mistakes. I am trying to fix a laptop that my sister gave to me as a present for my wife and that's why I am on here. I just bought my first CH341A and I am taking my first steps into this new world. Thanks for having me.

                      Hellow,

I came here looking for a schematic, I'm a rookie in electronics, trying to repair some stuff here and there when I need it, or make very simple electronic project. I am an IT teacher, developper and system&network admin.
Today I need to repair my laptop mobo (Lenovo Legion 15ACH5H bought 800€ in 2022).

Thank you for the add, though I am convinced I am in way over my head in this company of present strangers. What little "real" electronics training I have had and practiced came through USAF enlistment and assignment to NAVAIDS maintenance in the mid'70s. I suppose almost older than "old school". Am presently retired RN who piddles around with most anything, and often is found that piddling is most often in the arena of "stuff needing repair". Recently had an EGO battery charger go south, and figured I would at least take a look inside...see if I found anything obvious. When I found a scorch at R58, I thought EUREKA...looky, looky...at least I can surmise this is, if not the problem, at least one problem. But short of removal, I could make nothing of it...for the barrel was surely scorched and unreadable from my perspective. I figured, OK, let's see if there's a schematic for this thing. Nope, not online. Can I just Google? When I plugged in for search of R58 Resistor in EGO charger, it then led me (EUREKA again!) to one suggested comment made a few years go in a thread on a place called "Badcaps". My surprise, a fellow had posted in a thread regarding his experience with that particular resistor being found blown in an EGO charger. By, deftly as I could, clipping the leads and flipping the culprit, and consulting color chart, I believe I have assessed it rightly...and so wanted to return to that thread...(which was left kind of hanging unfinifhed from 2022) and ask that fellow if my surmising of value matched his...if and when he even ever completed his repair.

How to make a short story long is my forte. So, now as member appreciative, I have some hope that doors opened to repair of things formerly dismissed as "too" deep for my repair might become within the realm of possibility...I needn't tell anyone here how bathed we all are presently in things electronic. From the TIPM in my wife's Chrysler that decided to go wonky a few months back to an ECM in my Dodge Ram that is suspect...I hope to garner from y'all, and with you all, some encouragement, knowledge, and refining of skills that will allow for a tcakling of some things I, even most recently have simply surrendered as "gone bad" and need pricey replacement, and to better proceed with at least a glimmer of hope, of repairing.

                                          Thanks again!
