Forgive the intrusion and being late to the party. But, I too have a belly up EGO charger. In fact it was in searching out for an obviously fried R 58 on my board that led me to this thread, on this site, of which I am now (obviously) a member. You guys are miles if not light years ahead of me re:all things electronic...but in meager beginnings to dip in a toe, I just have to ask...did you find R58 to be a 430 ohm 5% tolerance? You fellows have lost me at the other components that could be likewise affected, but since I find no obvious signs of damage except the slight scorch on the top of the...1 Photo

Thank you for the add, though I am convinced I am in way over my head in this company of present strangers. What little "real" electronics training I have had and practiced came through USAF enlistment and assignment to NAVAIDS maintenance in the mid'70s. I suppose almost older than "old school". Am presently retired RN who piddles around with most anything, and often is found that piddling is most often in the arena of "stuff needing repair". Recently had an EGO battery charger go south, and figured I would at least take a look inside...see if I found anything obvious....
