    Hello

Registered from the U.K. - for Inspiration and Information.

First involvement was with Apple 2s in 1980, now just repurposing discarded enterprise equipment for enjoyment.

The knowledge available here is tantalising, I hope I can learn and contribute.

    Thanks.

36 years old, a jack-of-all-trades, occasionally dabbling in amateur electronics, I found the concept of this forum interesting because it offers a wealth of expertise from around the world.

      I own a Pickit and a small CH341A.

I sometimes modify video game consoles and repair electronic devices.

        Hello,

Joined from Netherlands. I'm into electronics and a lot of DIY, also hardware hacking(still newbie). Hoping to not lose my interest to it and stay active for long time.

Greets to all, glad to be here!

First computer was a PET... yup, brand new and yes, I'm past 65... 😀 Had a VIC-20, still have my original C64 (and a spare!), have owned Model 3 and 4 TRS-80's, a few Tandy 1000's, and a slew of PCs both brand name and self-built. The current machines are multi-cores with no less than 32G of RAM, at least one RAID array each, displaying on no fewer than 2 LCDs. Add in the NAS, printers and scanners, a couple of laptops, and you start to get a feel for the homelab.

6 years NAVY in the submarine force, hauling my bride and ultimately 2 children (grown now with their own offspring) from sub base to sub base.

15 years consumer electronics repair, component level. Factory certified by [pick a brand name, any brand name audio/video manufacturer] and loved every day of it. You can probably imagine how many of them had "cap kits" for different models, more often than not one voltage rating or more above the originals. 🙄

Moved to the local telco as a field service tech for 17 years (for the insurance and retirement), retired in 2018.

          Have an awesome day!

I am from Germany. I sometimes feel the sudden urge to get some broken Apple products off eBay and try to fix them.

I have read here quite a bit and finally I've created an account

Yeah yeah, brand new forum, totally.

I'm Pom! I dabble in a whole bunch of topics, notably electronics repair & development, photography, sometimes biking and fitness.
                                        I'm from Ontario, Canada.

Started off at the ripe old age of seven years! There was a guy advertising a little coding summer course outside of my school, and I was just barely too young to take it. But my parents convinced him, and it all spiraled from there. From that little program, i learned the very basics of C# and WPF, whoever remembers that old ancient thing now that the greatest UWP is in full swing! (i hate uwp.)

I immigrated to Canada and took up a small interest in retro computers,. but never got too deep to actually buy one. I think i told my music teacher I really wanted a Commodore 128 at the time. In hindsight, I totally see myself shoving a 6502 in one of my circuits soon. Would have been a great start.

More recently, I've picked up planning PCBs! I usually use KiCad for this, tried out Altium and didn't like it. I stick to smaller projects, recently I got some chromebook CCD adapters made, with a built-in hub for both ADB and CCD. Built some grove modules for Sensirion and Bosch sensors, an esp32 devboard for driving e-ink screens, that whole stuff.

Always been a fan of moodding and tinkering - a few months ago I taught myself how to install Picofly chips as well! Now, where to find boardviews....
