Hey guys, I own my own company as a "builder". I find the word engineer limiting and "hacker" leaves a bad taste although that's what most of us are. People don't understand what that means. It's not just maliciously change computer code or dropping virus. It's simply changing something to get a different "off label" usage out of it. Anyways, I hope that helps you explain who I am.

Hello everyone! Thanks for allowing me to join your community! I've always had a passion for electronics, which drove my career up until about 12yrs ago when I made an industry change to big oil. But I miss my bench and notebook, so I kept busy tinkering and repairing stuff. I'm slowly gathering my tools and building what I need to safely continue to play on the bench, mainly audio related, SMPS, and the occasional microcontroller projects. I look forward to meeting some of you at a local electronics swap meet (W6TRW is a local spot) or just chatting online!😁
Regards,
Jaime

Hi, My name is Richard. I'm shortly to be 70 years old. I've been interested in electronics and computers since I started my apprenticeship for BT in 1972. I like to try to repair old computers and build my own computer with varying degrees of success. I'm only an interested amateur though with no formal training so access to a forum like this will give me loads of information to continue my learning curve.
