    Hi everyone! Mikamatic here!

Long time lurker but only recently registered for an account!

I'm an electronics engineer by trade and have been repairing electronics for well over 20 years, recently got into more surface mount stuff through work which has given me a major skills boost!

My projects mainly rely on either old PC parts or photography, actually just finished re-capping a socket 370 board!

Hope you get to know other people too

    Hello everyone!
I’m an electrical technician by profession, and I’ve been surrounded by computers and technology since childhood. My passion for tech grew naturally—through curiosity, hands-on exploration, and learning by doing. Most of my knowledge in computing, operating systems, and programming has come from self-study, personal projects, tutorials, and the occasional paid online course.

While I don't have much hands-on experience with electronic components yet, I’m genuinely interested in the field and eager to expand my knowledge. I especially enjoy fixing things and understanding how various electrical and electronic devices work—whether it's computers or everyday household gadgets.

I'm excited about the opportunity to learn from more experienced members, share knowledge, and hopefully contribute back to the community in time. Thank you in advance for your help and support!

Hi! I'm Kei or Kaye. (My friends call me with either of the two.) I am new to repairs. I am teaching myself how to read schematic diagrams at the moment. I have been unemployed for more than 5 years already so I decided to be a technician. There aren't many employment opportunities for trans women like me here in my country (because it's not open and it's very "religious" and conservative) so I try to make the best of my situation. An opportunity for me to be a repair technician came up so I grabbed it and right now I am teaching myself how to repair different gadgets (like mobile phones and tablets). As a beginner, I hope I learn a lot from people here in this forum. I will greatly appreciate all the help and useful tips you can give. Thank you!

    Hello Everyone,

I am fairly new to electronics repair. I had spent many years working with 12v mobile electronics, but that was some time ago.
I am interested in learning more to repair my electronics such as a dead xbox one and a cctv camera which no longer works.
I heard about badcaps from the youtube channel parts people. Glad to be here and hope to learn lots.

Hi, I'm Byron. I love experimenting with single board computers like the Odroids, RPi, etc. I'm also heavily into micro controllers like the ESP32, etc. More of a geek than a nerd I guess. This site is awesome. Great to see info being shared so freely.
