Same board used in multiple sets

My question is regarding boards which have the same part number but is used in many different plasma sets. The board in question is the control (I think otherwise known as the video board or controller board or LVDS) board from a LG RU42PX11 plasma set. The board has been confirmed to be bad and I find a lot of replacements on ebay. What I need to know is if there is any difference from one manufacturer to another with regard to this board. Like will one from a Hitachi or Akai set work properly in the LG, is there any proprietary software etc. that might be different in the LG?

Edit: the board I have has 6870QCE014B silk screened on the board itself but in another area there is a white sticker which says 6871QCH034A, which is the right number to use?

The number silk screened on the board is typically the number of the bare board. The number on the white label would be the number of the assembly. The actual part number of the board could be something else, but most sellers use the white label number, or both.

I have a limited experience with this. The only time I needed one I replaced the defective main logic board in a Philips TV with one from (I think) a Vizio tv with no problems. I did verify that both boards had the same revision level of firmware, and it worked perfectly.

Ok, that is more or less what I thought. I found one that has the same number on the white tag so I am hoping that all is good when I put it in. We'll see when it gets here.
      Thank you
