    42" Hitachi and 57" Pioneer Plasma TV's

    Hi Members,
    Mpobanion again,
I need some help on Two Plasma TV's. The first is 42” Hitachi that the green power button is the only light that is present. A relay sound happens if the unit is unplugging from the wall A/C. The TV has been looked at and no filters caps have any damage. What could possibly be causing this, the power supply?

The second TV is a 57” Pioneer 2yrs old it was a display model a lot of use. A picture of the screen show's a white square about in the middle ½ in and about 1/8 height. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks, Mike

    It's been a long day.

We have some very nice people here - retiredcaps, Toasty, many others. We have some very smart people here -- they know who they are. And there are a few of us that can be real jerks when the situation warrants it.

There is no way these TVs can be repaired by you. In each case, the problem is the same. You haven't given us anything more than a brand and size. Not even a hint of a model number. How do you expect us to help you - Wizardry?

      Hi,
Did I do something to offend you PlainBill
I apologies about the Model number's,
The Hitachi 42” Model number is 42HDF39.
The symptom line of order is red LED standby is present and when powered on the green power light comes-on then immediately turns-off and then stays green with no picture or sound.

The Pioneer Model # is PDP-4300. Aim a newbie and uploaded a picture and not sure if I did the right format of pic.

      Thanks, Mike

I suggest you start 2 new threads. One for each tv since keeping things straight will be difficult in one thread.

Make the subject header descriptive. Name/model/problem that you are having/etc.

Here is a thread I started for a LCD/TV. Note post #1 and how to attach pictures after reading this

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=1868

My thread below (note the information I give - the more the better)

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...ghlight=daytek

If you do all this, you should be in PlainBill's goodside. He is one of the few here that can help with plasmas.

edit: Otherwise, it could end up like this thread ...

        https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showth...hlight=day+job

I'm writing this because I'm interested and trying to learn more about this subject.

For your information the Pioneer is a 43", not a 57". The 'white box' sounds like screen burn.

Hitachi 55HDS69 55" Plasma TV - No Picture But Sound
            by KYBOSH
Picked up a bahemoth plasma TV not too long ago and just now getting around to looking at it.
No picture but you hear the TV static (white noise) playing loud and clear.
The back was already taken off (and no screws were provided) as the previous owner had already taken a look.
But it seems they didn't get too far and just left it.

When I first took a look I was amazed at how pristine the inside looked.
Its as if the TV had been in a time capsule.
Caps looked like they were just pulled off the self.
Copper coils had no sign of corrosion on...

Pioneer Plasma 111FD To Solder or Not to Solder.
            by pixelcap
Hello out there in Badcap land.

I have a Pioneer plasma that gave me the dreaded 8 red blink and shutdown, I have been trying to trace the failure points. On my last inspection while replacing a Y Sustain Board I noticed on the original and replacement board some missing solder, the points of connection
are from the Digital Address Board and the Buffer Boards. I have included the pictures, should I resolder these points or are they unsoldered intentionally? Any help would be much appreciated.

            Thank you

Pioneer PRO-FHD1 Elite Plasma Monitor Start-Up Problem
            by Phil Stasik
Pioneer Pro-FHD1 Elite. Failure to power on.

I'm new to this awesome forum, and have been reading like mad, but have not seen the answer to my challenge.

We bought this Panasonic plasma monitor 16 years ago and it has never been serviced, so all parts are original, and the unit has never malfunctioned -- until about a month ago. The system fails to power on. At first (a month ago) this happened rarely. We learned to unplug for a few minutes to drain the caps, then re-plug, and the monitor would start normally. Now, we plug-in, turn on the main power switch, and the...

Hitachi Plasma TV 42HDT79 firmware upgrade
            by Yanleb
Do you know where I can find a firmware upgrade for the Hitachi 42HDT79 plasma TV? My set currently has firmware V0112.0001.

Their service website seems to be on SalesForce now, which requires a login.

            Thanks.

The TV was stuck on the logo and I couldn't access the update menu.
I couldn't find the firmware for the Hitachi 32HAE2351 and updated it with the Toshiba 32WA2063DG - Vestel 17MB171 firmware.
