    Major Blowup RCA L26HD31

    What I have here is the power supply/Inverter that blew (see pics) . It is out of 26” RCA Lcd model number L26HD31. What do you think happened to cause this?. What parts will I need to fix this ?(should I even bother ? ).

    looks like the main power MOSFETs took a shit.

      Is that CapXon mains cap an HP series? " HP VENT 105°C "

      If so, that's likely the culprit that caused the destruction.

          It is definitely worth the time and effort. You are gonna need a service manual to identify some of the toasty components. That should be the first step.

            Hey rb0746, Did you ever get that RCA TV going? I have one here as well. Thing is that this one was given to me. Thought I could fix it with some caps and fuse replacements but still no power to it at all. I'm stumped....

              Hi, I just picked up this same model TV. (L26HD31) I took it a part to inspect, but all seems to look clean. Is there some test points that I could check?

              I apply power to the TV and it does nothing at all. If I use the remote or press the power button on the TV will also results in nothing happening.

              Any help would be appreciated.

                @csisatellite I would start with the checking the fuse on the power board and then if that's okay move on to the connector that goes to the main board. There should be a SBY(or similarly labeled aka "stand by"). Better yet, take sharp close-up pics of the power board and upload them here. You should get plenty of help then.

                  I did not see any fuses on the power board. That was something I was looking for. I took the board out and flipped it over just to check out the other side and everything looked clean, no fuse to be seen. I will see about getting some pictures together.

                    I went ahead and took the TV into a repair place. They had to replace the main power board.
