Major Blowup RCA L26HD31
What I have here is the power supply/Inverter that blew (see pics) . It is out of 26” RCA Lcd model number L26HD31. What do you think happened to cause this?. What parts will I need to fix this ?(should I even bother ? ).... -

Well PlainBill upon checking fuses I found a little a bugger dead (the color of this fuse is black and the others are white is this a special fuse ?) it was on the master inverter now I need to order and replace said fuse the fuse has the number 15 on it on the board i believe it is printed beside it .75A 63v.

1-5= 25v
6-10=Ground
11(BR1)=1v
12(on/off)=3v
13(pwm-Dim)=0v
14(error)-5v
Slave Inverter : 12 pins
1-5=25v
6-10=Ground

42LG50 no backlight
I have an LG4250. Powers up and I can see the menu etc when I have enough light directed at the screen (no backlights are working) this unit was covered under warranty the set was replaced by LG . I have purchased this set with hopes of fixing it . the inverter boards are getting the required 25 volts . what really puzzles me is I don't see even a flash of backlight at all during startup .I have checked all the cabling and all seems to be okay .
Any Ideas here to help me along would be greatly appreciated -

Choosing an in circuit ESR tester
I am beginning to realize the the value of such a tool for trouble shooting .
I was hoping to get some help in my selection/purchase.

Transformer MIP260T-T102 (RCA L26HD31) Help
I have picked up this set recently and the set will operate for about 10 minutes with intermittent high pitch sounds then will shut down. I think I have isolated the problem it being a transformer MIP260T-T102 . If I cool this transformer when the whining begins the whining goes away. And if I don't the set shuts down !. where to get this transformer from is my problem now any help ?

Butchered Insignia NS-37LCD power supply
I think I may be over my head with this one .
Pictured here you can see the power supply which does not work. It looks like the previous tech or in this case butcher left his handy work for all to see
I do get the 5 volt control power thats it the 24 volt reads 5.68 volts same for the 18 volt .
What I would like to know is what else can I measure the caps look okay but I know that is not always the case . I would really like to work through this problem but will need some help.... -

Well the transformer came in today and I eagerly soldered it in place .
Everything is working fine now for the last couple hours.

It was my bad I did not make sure I had an input at the time of testing because of this the set did what it should have. 8-10 sec. then backlight off. After hooking up a dvd to the set it worked as planned without a backlight .So as you see it is possible to run with a burnt out backlight ...... if you use OHM's Law of course . !...Leave a comment:

Ohms law. At a rough guess a CCFL runs at 650 - 1000 Volts and draws 3-5 mA.
E / I = R or 800/.004 = 200Kohms
I X E = P or .004 X 800 = 3.2 watts
So a 200K ohm, 5 watt resistor hooked to an appropriate connector should do it. Probably be a good idea to use a resistor rated for high voltage.
No warranty at this price.

Testing: replace a backlight with a resistor ?
I would like to prove that a backlight on an lcd screen is good or bad
what size resistor would I use to fool the inverters safety shut-off ?
I have tried a 200 ohm 5 watt last for about 8-10 seconds.
Unfortunately I don't have any more resistors to try. I was hoping someone that has traveled this road before me will share what resistor or resistors worked for this application . -
