Re: LCD Digital Screen monitor help

I've had several devices I've tried to work on (not TVs) that had all part numbers sanded off all the chips. It's annoying.

That sort of crap has been going on for years, and is worse than annoying. The manufacturer is saying 'You bought it from us, and we own you.'

I wonder if PCBONEZ was complaining about the manufacturer not putting their logo on SMD devices. On most of the packages they would have to come up with a special process; there is barely enough room to put two legible characters on them.

        Those aren't that small.

Fcon caps probably aren't helping anything.

Without the schematic for that PCB no one can bee correct on the exact part replacement.

You're right. You might as well give it to someone who knows the difference between a diode and a transistor.

I didn't say 'Give it to a "professional", I said "give it to someone who knows the difference between a diode and a transistor." All it takes to be a "professional" is a business card and a line of BS. There are many people working in electronics repair who understand electronics. Wizard is obviously one of them. There are also many whose strength is swapping parts until it works, writing inflated invoices, and coming up with reasons why you should pay them for NOT fixing it.

My further point is that someone who cannot distinguish between a diode and a transistor is not qualified to decide my parts identification is incorrect.

AOC U34G3XM, new monitor, black screen with backlight on, possible shortcircuit during dissassembly
                  by turmix
Hello, I'm working on a new deskmod pc project and have a problem with my monitor, an AOC U34G3XM, well, I may have bricked it.

The monitor was dismanteled and the separate parts parts integrated in the desk. the screen panel alone is on the upper part, and main board/video board + power board on the back of the desk (not enough place on the cover to fit it)
At first everything was working smoothly, then I decided to change the connexion between the video board and the screen for a longer one. Still working fine

During another reassembly, I made a mistake, and...

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
                  by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

HannStar Hanns-G HC194d LCD monitor repair

Normally, I never post repairs this quick after I do them, because… I am usually very slow. But today, I’m making an exception here. Why? No idea. Perhaps only because the repair details are still “fresh” in my head… which is ironic, given this is a 16 year old monitor that hardly anyone will care about today. It is new to me, though. I picked it up last November from someone on my local Craigslist. It wasn’t very close to where I live, but was close to a family friend that I had to go visit anyways. So after watching the posting on Craigslist for a few weeks and seeing it getting...

A2141 Screen replacement. Boots screen freezes on Apple Logo 1/3 status bar unless connected to second monitor.
                  by abajor
                  Having this very weird issue.
The owner of this laptop complained about screen being intermittent when opening and closing, and has been using the laptop on a thunderbolt video connection since the screen failed.

I swapped with a working screen from an A2141 waiting for parts.

The Os exhibits this weird behavior where it boots to to 1/3 the status bar, then it makes the boop sound. It's at the log in but for whatever reason the desktop isn't loaded.

The laptop boots fine into recovery mode. I updated from Monterey to Sonoma and the laptop still has...

AOC 27 monitor Q27G2WG4 doesn't display logo or image on screen
                  by 3D Modelka
Hello. I have a problem with my AOC 27 monitor, specifically model Q27G2WG4, which I have been using for 3 years. The monitor stopped turning on: when I turn it on, the backlight turns on, the indicator starts glowing white, but the logo on the screen does not appear, and there is no image. However, if I check in the Windows system, the monitor is displayed as connected and working. I tried connecting it via HDMI and DP, but the result remains the same. If I turn the monitor on and off multiple times, it will eventually start and work. However, when the monitor is working, there are no issues....
