    Samsung UE40C6005 turns off and on by itself

    I've got a Samsung UE40C6005 which turns itself on and off as it wants to. It's exactly as I use the remote or the touchstrip on the front.
    My question is if this could be related to a faulty touchstrip and is it possible to disable the touch but keep the remote reciever operating (placed on the same pcb which has Samsung P/N BN96-13047G

    It would be ok to skip the touch function and only use the remote. Anyone know the pinout of the ribbon cable ?

      Just ohm out the ir sensor. With connector unplugged does it still turn on and off?
      I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

          Stupid of me to not test that first...
          It's not so often it happens but I will run it with connector unplugged.
          I thought perhaps the IR sensor and the touchbuttons were sent through a common SPI bus or similair...

              Without touch / IR module the set works correct. Does not turn on and off by itself.

                  wonder if the power button is sticky, maybe get a little isopropyl alcohol in between the buttons and click them many times, might also just be bad.
                  Quit because THIS SITE LETS A ROGUE MEMBER TYPE ANY GARBAGE HE PLEASES AND THE POWERS THAT BE NEVER DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT SO HE NEVER QUITS. THEN YOU GET A PENALTY FOR RESPONDING TO HIS ATTACKS. BEEN GOING ON FOR WAY TOO LONG. DONE SUPPORTING A SITE THAT ALLOWS THIS BS.

                      I've found on mine the backlights causing issue . Disconnect upper then lower and test .

                          good morning, I have a samsung UE55F8000SZ tv that turns on, shows the logo and turns off after 1-2 seconds.
                          This defect happens continuously, hearing the classic click of the relay every time.

                          Power supply board BN44-00636B

                          disconnecting the mains and lamps from the power board always causes the same problem.
                          Is it normal that without anything connected this power supply turns on and off cyclically?
                          any suggestions on what to check?

                          Hi,
                          I have this TV a small 20 inch that works perfectly except for the IR has stopped. I have confirmed that the remote control is fine and tried an alternative and even tried with IR blaster from phone. Remote 100% ok.

                          Tried installing latest firmware but no change.

                          TV won't respond to remote at all, not even to bring it out of standby. I have to use the touch sensitive front panel to operate, at which point TV is usable albeit with no remote.

                          Tried replacing the IR receiver diode/bulb on front panel and no change so put the old one back. After tracing...
