Phillips 42FD9932/17G 42" LCD TV won't turn on

I get nothing but the red power LED.

I took the back off and nothing visible. I tested all the connectors coming from the main power supply and only 2 pins ever show power:
5vstby is powered all the time and 5vstby_sw goes on and off when you flip the power switch.

    All the fuses are Ok.

This TV also has PCBs on 2 layers. The back comes off and there are the main power supply board, then another power supply board, the main logic board, the audio amp board, another logic board I don't know what is, and a small board that's not much more than a board for passing a few connections.

Then, and I'm not positive on how to get to these boards, there are some underneath. The only thing I can figure is that I have to take the LCD panel off to get to those, and I've tried but it doesn't want to come off; feels like it's gona break...

    Pictures are coming...

    Thanks!

Logic boards and audio amp. I can't get pics of the boards underneath all of these unless I figure out how to get the LCD panel off...

I think an over-all shot of the back this TV would be a big help. I'm having a little trouble locating much information on it. All the information I can find indicates it's a plasma, not an LCD tv.

It likely is a Plasma as it's got a glass screen.

Here's an overall shot. Notice one ribbon cable towards the right going underneath? It goes to the 2nd level of PCBs. So does a bunch of black wires at the top just to the right of the middle of the panel.

So far it says to unplug the y board and try to turn on. If that doesn't work, plug it back in and unplug x board. Is this the chassis number for your set.FTV1.9EE AA

Maybe on the sticker in your picture. Should give model # and Chassis # will be there also, or somewhere in it will be. Usually tv schematics are sorted by chassis as several models use the same chassis.

OK, here is one problem. there is no board on that TV called a 'video board'. It is no shame to not know what you are doing; we all started depending on someone to feed and change us.. Unless you are willing to take pictures of the TV, and identify the board you are talking about, you are wasting your time, our time, and probably trashing the TVs.

And here is the service manual. It's an FTV1.9DEAA chassis.

                                Which is the wrong board.

Download the service manual. It has excellent troubleshooting information.

I don't see any way to download the file on the site. Using Firefox... Click the blue down arrow, takes to preview of file, but no link to download it.

After clicking the blue arrow and seeing the preview windows, there is a line that says

"This file can be downloaded free of charge from this site."

Just under that it says "Get Manual".

Yea, there's no Get Manual link in FF... Works in IE. Poorly designed site. I despise using IE, it's lame and slow compared to FF.

Not sure why you are having problems. I'm using the latest Firefox. Just to the left of the tag "Type PDF" is an umber circle with a down arrow. Clicking on that works for me.

LG 55NANO77SRA TV – Menu scrolling by itself even after removing button board (Main Board EBU66792103)

                                          Hi everyone,

I’m looking for help with a persistent issue on an LG TV model 55NANO77SRA, which uses the main board EBU66792103 (also used in LG UQ80 and NANO75/NANO80 series).

                                          🧩 Problem Summary:
                                          • The TV keeps scrolling through the menu or selecting items by itself.
                                          • I removed the physical button board (the entire panel with power and volume buttons) and also disconnected the flat cable (CN202) from the main board.
                                          • The remote control is not in use (batteries removed), and the TV still shows the same behavior.

                                          Sony xbr-65x900c main board issues?

Hey guys great forum glad to have found it. I bought a Sony XBR 65X900C cheaply because it didn't work. No signs of life at all not even a light/led. All I hear is a brief high voltage sound when I throw the power to it.

Didn't see any obvious signs of damage so right away started checking voltages. This is what I see:
Power Board Connector that goes to Main board
                                          CN6401
                                          Pin 01 NC
                                          Pin 02 NC
                                          Pin 03 "BL_ON": 0V
                                          Pin 04 "N/C"
                                          Pin 05 "STBY 3.3V": 3.5V
                                          Pin 06 "GND": N/C
                                          Pin 07 "AC_OFF"...

Is it possible to upgrade from a Vestel 17MB97 main board to a 17MB110 Main board?

I suppose the real question is whether the existing pinouts from ether a 17IPS71 psu are cross compatible with a 17IPS12 psu? If they are then the exchange of the main boards should have no issues providing the screen is compatible with both main boards. Obviously you can change the screen configurations easily enough (providing you have the correct files) for the main board. Why may you ask would I do this? Well a lot of the smart features are no longer working on a Hitachi 48HBT62U main board I wish to give it a new lease of life!
Obviously the same LVDS connector for the screen connection...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board

This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...
