can check the caps meter in diode mode, probe on each end, shorted if continues to beep or reading close to 000, if one reads short remove and check off board, if it's ok off board then something else was making t read short.

C are capacitors. D are the diodes

Hm I see so it's one of those little metal pieces like C25, C76, C61 or that area around it that's shorted?

I think vgh is created by a voltage doubler circuit. Maybe a shorted diode. I can't read the chip that generates the t-con voltages.

Yeah I've noticed that too looks like VGH is half of what it should be for a working TCON board. It's interesting to see what you guys do to troubleshoot. I'm curious how come VGH is a problem why is the voltage lower than it should be?

Looks like VGH is the problem. Should be 20- 30v.

Hey everyone, So I have good news I've bought a new tcon board and replaced the broken one and now my TV works again! Yay! for educational purposes I'd like to know why the tcon board is broken. I still took down the voltages of broken and working tcon board in the attached pictures. Also another question is the differences in the tcon boards (top is broken and bottom is working) I've noticed is some of the test points are soldered in the working one as opposed to the broken one, would've me possibly soldering made it work? Just some questions I have as I'd like to get more knowledgeable in this. Thank you for the feedback by the way!

Good video there, just be careful what you touch there's DEADLY voltage on the hot side of the powerboard and the inverter, he's checking the voltages in the first part of the video, He is a good teacher, works at a steady pace that even beginners can grasp, consider subscribing and donating: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gRDZ...teY5Gw&index=2

Um yeah I don’t have a heat gun and don’t know how to do soldering. Sorry if I didn’t mention that before. I was thinking is it possible to replace one of the boards to fix it?

Next I would suggest heating up your mainboard processor. If nothing changes there. It's down to checking voltages. I would start at t-con, first picture. There is VGH,VGL, VCC, VCOM that I see

As per instructions , So I reseated the cable between the board and the main board. After that I unplugged both cables at the bottom. Then I unplugged each bottom cable one at a time and turned on the TV. This is what I got. 1st picture is left cable unplugged and 2nd picture is right cable unplugged.

On first picture. Remove and check, reseat cable between that board and mainboard. Unhook two cables on bottom of picture one at a time and check tv picture. Turn off tv each time before you disconnect cable.

Ah okay, don’t know where to find that cable but I’ll see if I can open up the TV and then I’ll take pictures of the inside. Also that’s good to hear that the panel might be still good, I was afraid the panel is bad.

Macbook Pro 14 2021 - A2442 - 820-02098-A - Internal display not turning on but MacOS working good
    by modtool
    Dear collegues,
the owner of this machine brought it to me saying that suddenly one day the display didn't turn on anymore, he tought that all the machine was damaged but it turned out that the MacOS starts good and stays on, and that connecting it to an external display it works without problems.
If you take a look into general settings, you can also see that the internal retina display is recognized as connected by the main board but for an unknown reason it doesn't turn it on.
I've tried to put a bright light towards the screen but I can't see anything, any shadows or apple...

    Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....

    Equipment Display Types
    by Mark R
Most Displays I have worked with are of course LCD Or Blueish Fluorescent Types. I Have a Marantz PMD800 tuner with sort of a white display. The display area is a sealed rectangular shape in a Glass Case. Looks like some sort L.E.D. display only not your typical section number type. I picked up this Tuner cheap as the display is very Dim. In front of the circuit is a dull red Plastic lens.

The display is very week and hard to see. I've got my DC 5 Volts allover and also a DC 32 Volt that runs some other section. Power supply looks good front to back. Not familiar with this type...
