Brand Interchangeable mainboards?

I have a Luxor TV with white screen and searched eBay for the mainboard model number and bought it. The white screen persists so I ordered another board in case the first was bad. Same problem.

I then realised that the boards were from Toshiba TVs. Are mainboards from different brand TVs compatible as long as they are the same board number or do they have to be from the same brand TV?

The white screen may be due to a faulty T-CON, panel slats, and the panel itself.

Find the numbers on the main board (not the model number ie 17mb95) but the 6 or seven digit numbers on the board (white label) or if newer board this is printed on the board. Search for those numbers. One will be a serial number and the other will be the item number relevant to your make model and screen details. Order it based on that number. If you don't then your unlikely to get a board suitable for your TV!
