un65mu9000 Spot on the lcd screen

I found this tv and just wondering if anyone else has seen this before. It looks like a screen/ panel issue but not 100% sure.

It also kinda looks like the light diffuser under the screen may be cracked. Similar to the Samsung “NU” series TVs that have this defect from the backlights being to hot.

I don’t have the tv in my possession to take it apart and find out for sure. Didn’t want to pick it up if it’s a panel issue.

    Thanks for the help.

Re: Spot on the lcd screen

It looks like a crack in the plexiglass behind a panel.

Possibly a lens coming off of led.
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

Thanks Lotas, that’s kinda what I was thinking but wasn’t sure. Was hoping someone ran into it before and knew exactly.

Dskall, I believe this is an edge lit tv so there would be lens covers. But I didn’t mention the model so you wouldn’t have known. Thanks for the input though. Always appreciate the help.

If I get the tv I will update so everyone else knows for future reference

Re: Spot on the lcd screen

Just to update, I did get the TV. It’s model # un65mu9000.

After getting my hands on it and opening it up, The plexiglass is what’s cracked. Luckily the screen is good.
It just so happens I have a ks9000 with a bad cof tab laying around. I’m going to use that to replace the plexiglass on this one.

I may transfer the backlights and diffuser also since the ks9000 is quantum dot and the mu9000 was not. Seems like that was a short coming of the mu9000 in reviews.

Macbook 2017 with touchbar (A1706) won't turn on after removing the screen
            by Ryan.man
Hello everybody! Posting this in hopes somebody has some expertise that leads to a clear path of troubleshooting that saves me a lot of time!

My macbook has the flex cable problem, the one that prevents the screen turning on. Ive been dealing with this for the last 3 years. Last year it went dead and I managed to fix it following youtube tutorials. But my fix wasnt the best, the problem returned a month later. This week, it went dead again. I again tried to fix it.

This time the original cable broke too close to the screen, it can't be fixed without tearing the screen...

Macbook Air M2 A2681 Kernel panics after screen replacement
            by reformatt
Just had a customer bring in a M2 MBA A2681 that had had a screen replacement in April at another repairer. Since then, she has been getting intermittent kernel panics. It's an aftermarket screen, and of course it fails in diagnostics as the calibration hasn't been done. The error in the panic log is "No device added after powering on the rails".

It seems the original repairer has swapped the board and the screen to other MAC's, and said that it isn't a screen issue. From what I understand, by doing a quick search on Google, this is in fact a screen issue. The panic relates...

iphone XS turns off when press on screen.
            by smic717394
            Hi,

I have a iphone XS that came in for a screen replacement, the screen was badly cracked, and inside missing scues, on the back of the screen still the blue protector, the screen was a LCD. So we replaced the screen and all good, installed the screen and we noticed that pressing the screen with a bit of force but not excessive, the phone dies. After plugging the charger it turns back on, but again if you press it it dies. I open the phone again, and I can't see anything major, with the phone open, if I press on the logic board, battery, charging board, or even putting pressure on...

            Samsung UE55JU6800K half screen dark
            by Chrissygizmo
Hello everyone, I’ve just been given a Samsung UE55JU6800K smart tv as it had white spots on the screen due to the led lenses falling off. After refitting them & putting the tv back together I thought it was a nice easy fix for a free bedroom tv , then I tried it before screwing the back into place. I realised that the right side of the screen was darker than the other side, I removed the screen again as I thought the backlights had failed but they are fine.
I put the screen back in place & turned it back on . The screen seemed to be ok again but different screens on the same...

Vizio TV M50-C1 reboot cycle and static on screen
            by spice_disc
I'm currently trying to diagnose and fix my Vizio TV (Model M50-C1). I've tried a number of different basic solutions, but I'm trying to determine if my issue is currently a failing panel, T-Con board, or main board (or something else entirely) and whether or not it is worth my time to fix it. Details of the issue and what I've tried are below as well as why I think it is either a bad panel, T-Con board, or main board.

The Issue: The TV will be on and working fine but after the TV is on for ~5-10 minutes the screen will freeze (with sound continuing) until the TV reboots itself. While...
