Crt TV Repair - Microcontroller issue ?

    Hello all!

I have an old Crt TV but mistakenly I touched some pins of the micro controller that handles the remote and the keyboard buttons.
The TV shut down then I switched on again but now the remote controller has no effect and the only buttons that work are for changing channel but cannot set volume ,brightness etc anymore.
Before I touched the pins all worked perfectly.

May the micro controller got somehow corrupted ?
And if so changing it with same model may solve the problem or these things are programmed by the tv manufacturer so the new controller would not know what to do ?

    Big thanks!!

Where you grounded before you poked around?
I assume no responsibility for any stupid suggestions I might post.

If you shorted pins, the part could be damaged. Also if it was zapped by ESD.
If you change it, you should use part from same TV model, not just same part number on IC.
But I've read in some forum a while ago that applying some heat to chip can fix it.

Surface Pro 7 type 1866 PD controller firmware issue
        by titomno2
        Hi guys,

        Hope you are fine.
I'm struggling to fix a small issue with one of the tablet Surface Pro 7 type 1866 i'm fixing (windows 11).
The boot time is so long (up to 5-10 minutes).
After several attempt I finally find one thing is not right (PD controller firmware is 0.0.0 it can't update to 3.6.1) under device manager I have a yellow mark, code 14 and error as decribed on picture attached.
I don't find any information regarding the error code 0x1803 (and sometimes it change to 0x1804.
In the past I have found that if the update is a success, the boot...

Victrix pro bfg ps5/pc controller - battery issue
        by bociub
        Hi there

So, here is a controller which has 2 batteries, their connectors on the right side. The controller does not work wirelessly and if I try to switch on it lights in red until i release the button. Furtheremore, I beleive that it never ever worked wirelessly. The voltage on the batteries (between a-c and x-z) are 3.8 volts and if I connect it to a charger it flashes one green.
however the voltages on the middle pins are different and I cross tested the batteries and it was same so the issue is going to be with the board itself. (i beleive so)

        So, between...

PS4 controller left stick potentiometer replacement issue
        by ezenia
        Hello,

Not sure if this is the correct section, but I have a PS4 controller that I am trying to fix. It developed stick drift on the left stick and the usual simpler methods did not fix the problem.

So I went on eBay and ordered some replacement potentiometers. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/174967976757 is where I got them from.

I took the green potentiometers off the replacement sticks and soldered them onto the PCB. Assembled the controller and ran some tests. The drifting was somewhat fixed (not fully in center, but way better than before). However,...

HP Elitebook 830 G8 HP Endpoint Controller error and no power issue (intermitent)
        by Nene01
        Hi all,

I have a HP Elitebook 830 G8 with endpoint controller error and besides that laptop sometimes doesn´t power on and i think it´s bios related also.
I already tried to solve the issue with SMDFlea patch fix and now i can´t power on the equipment anymore not even replacing main bios by its original.

Please take a look at my original main bios and help me if possible (i also attached EC BIOS without password).
The mainboard also had password that i manage to remove.

        Thanks
        Best Regards...

PS5 Dualsense controller stick drift a mainboard issue?
        by dbuergi
        Hi all,

I got a controller where the left stick was moving left all the time (-1.00 at calibration tool). Even after changing to hall effect sticks it stayed the same and reset and all others things didn't help.
I removed the stick again and even without it calibration tool shows a movement to the left. Anybody knows where the fault can come from? Maybe any bridges or damaged SMD components?
