Hisense TV 32D33 - Replaced EEPROM, now menus have no text

The TV initially had a steady (not flashing) red standby light but did not turn on when power button was pressed. I tried all the usual “fixes” but nothing worked. TV would not turn on. After researching the issue, I concluded the cause was a bad EEPROM chip. I ordered the appropriate chip from ShopJimmy:

    https://www.shopjimmy.com/hisense-32...hoCOcUQAvD_BwE

I took off the old chip using my hot air station and soldered on the new chip. I tested and made sure all the legs have continuity to the pads. When I turned on the TV, the screen lit up and seemed to be fine. However, all of the menus are missing the text. I can navigate the menus but the menu choices are invisible.

What could be wrong and how can I fix this? Did ShopJimmy send me the wrong EEPROM?

Did you program the new EEPROM before putting it in?

I did not…how do you do that? I had no idea programming was required!

The eeprom from shopjimmy should have come pre-programmed. See if there is a way to do a master reset on the tv or from the service menu

Got it! It's going be difficult to navigate blind but if I can get the appropriate screenshots from a service manual, I think I can manage. Thank you!

            93C46 and 93C56 EEPROM
            by SidneyCanadas
I tore apart my instrument cluster for my 2008 Toyota Corolla made in 2007 in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada and pcb location: IC6=EEPROM is a surface mounted device with part # of 93C46W7, some claim the EEPROM out of a Camry part # 93C56 will allow odometer to roll over 299 999 KM or miles. The data sheet for both is below:

            https://cdn.badcaps-static.com/pdfs/...c6e42b20d3.pdf 2

Anyone know if the Camry one will work on my Corolla?. And which EEPROM reader/writers do you all recommend I purchase that will allow me to read the old values of the old...

Kermi IRT 10 Towel Dryer Infrared Thermostat

            Hi everyone,

I have a Kermi infrared wireless room thermostat that simply does not function as it should.

The display turns on sporadically or remains completely off. When the display is on, I can use the buttons (rubber domes) and navigate through the menus. Sometimes the display shows plausible text but does not respond to button presses. In other cases, the device is entirely inactive.

After detailed measurements, I found 5V almost everywhere across the board, which indicates a stable power supply. However, the mentioned issues persist.

            Based...

            Replaced HiSense 75H6570G backlight
            by howardc64
TV has 2 strings of LED backlight. 1 string had 1x LED failure. Replaced all LED light bar (thought about replacing just 1 bar but new bar LED color more white compared to old)

The large screen and HiSense reflector paper assembly presented some challenges over the smaller screens.

            - 75" TV is huge, need 2x large work surface (1 for TV, 1 for LCD panel)
            - White reflector paper in the tub is secured by 10 columns and 1 row (on top the tub) of double sided sticky tape. Took awhile (need to go slow to avoid/minimize damage) to remove with minimal damage.

Pioneer DEX-P99rs "No EEProm " diagnostic code.
            by dmccul2698
Hello, My head unit developed strange behaviors so I ran the built-in diagnostic package which returned "No EEProm". The service manual says there is no EEProm connected. I approached Pioneer and they said to swap out the DSP board. All said and good but the DSP board is $860 USD. I am hoping someone can help me

1). Understand the schematic and check the connections between the EEProm and DSP
2). Check the functionality of the EEProm

I don't know if this is the unit's problem but it's a place to start.

I have little to no electronic experience...

Can I Swap Screens Between Two Hisense 75” QLED TVs?
            by ShahZaib Ghumman
            Hey folks,

I'm not a professional, but I do have a decent amount of knowledge when it comes to electronic repairs.

A friend of mine recently bought a brand new Hisense 75” 4K QLED Smart TV (75E7NQTUK) but unfortunately, he cracked the screen just a few days later. Luckily, he had insurance and got a replacement right away but weirdly enough, the insurance company never asked for the broken unit back.

So, I took it off his hands and figured I'd try to repair it myself rather than see it go to waste. I've been searching for a replacement screen but can't...
