Hello!
I was watching TV recently when it shut down while tripping the circuit
breaker. A couple of days later I removed the back panel, and, looking
at the PS module, I discovered a broken component, a thermistor. A bit
of it had split off and this fell into my hand while taking off the panel (see
photo, it's directly to the right hand side of that metal casing with the plug).
I'm not an expert by any means but I do think I can manage replacing it.
Question is, though, is this likely to be the entire issue, or will there be other
defective components which led to the thermistor breaking in the first place?
What do you recommend I should be looking at (and how)? The two fuses are
both fine.
Looking at similar such issues elsewhere as well as on YT it seems that the
FETs are a frequent cause of failure.
Decent multimeter and soldering equipment are on hand.
Thanks very much indeed for any assistance!
T.
