    Sony XBR-55X850D LED strip replacement

Does anyone have the procedure for replacing the LED strips on a Sony XBR-55X850D? It's a sidelit TV so hopefully doesn't require complete panel removal and all that, but its a Sony so who knows.

I cant find much info on any one having done it before and would love to take a look at what im in for before i decide to take on the job.

I would suspect looking at the advertised led strips that the led panel needs to be removed.

I have never encountered a LED TV where you DIDN'T have to remove the panel to get at the LEDs. Edge lit models are fairly much the same and sometimes the diffuser sheets sit on top of the inner frame. You also have to be very careful with fingerprints, rips in the reflector sheet and spacing between the diffusing panel and LEDs since they all can cause bright spots or an uneven backlight.

Several years ago I did have one set where the leds were side bar and the plates were removable from the back of the panel meaning you did not have to disassemble the led panel and diffusers. Can't remember the make, sorry.

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
          by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

          Visio M70-C3 LED replacement strips
          by mc900fthanna
So... I have the patchy back light issue with my Visio M70, meaning some light up, others do not. I finally got around to testing the LED driver board and found that was not the issue (swapped another one in and the same issue persisted) and I am considering if i dare dive deeper into this TV and go after the LED strips.

Right away i see that they don't seem to stock them anywhere out there (E700DLB0016-002) is a part number that i see a you tube / seller guy list out. He has a nice video of how to get into my exact TV out there: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0AcUPiN83Tg

          Sony MDR-IF245R transmitter LED replacement
          by lti
I'm looking at the transmitter from these wireless headphones because the range is too short. One of the LEDs failed many years ago (nine years ago - I found pictures that I took then) and was simply bypassed to make them work again, but it seems like the range has been degrading since then. They're near-IR LEDs (I can see them dimly lit red, so they aren't the standard 940nm), and I haven't been able to find the actual wavelength. Does anyone here happen to know what replacement LEDs I should use? Maybe I can adjust the transmitter was well while I'm in there, or there's another fault. I should...

          by timonix20
hello everyone I am looking for a solution for my tv, I think corruption of the eemc,

the TV starts, LG logo, then nothing (rear backlight)
no reaction to rear command or infrared

the usb procedure that I tried on the LG site is a procedure with the screen and the remote control so I can't.

I have a chance with a usb procedure or other if you have .bin

if any people have this main board
