    NEC PX42VP4A 2004 plasma repair

hi gents this is my first post here i am currently working on the afore mentioned plasma tv, the problem is pretty straight forward, tv comes on but as soon as any signal (component,composite,VGA...etc) is applied it goes into standby mode after showing the images for 1-2 seconds, using the OSD does not cause it to go into standby mode, i have read several posts talking about the problem being the PSU or the input board. i have removed the back and looked for any bad caps..so far i have not found any leaking or bulging (except maybe one ..see pic) i have removed the PSU model# pkg-1953 and started testing the caps (in circut) all seem tobe behaving (nice gradual climb on the multimeter) except the 2 400v 220uf they are total closed or jumping all over the place (see pic) the big one (200v 1500uf) looks like it is starting to mushroom so i am going to replace it aswell, before i order the new caps i just thought i would see if anyone had any advice.

    thnx for any help

I would start with a recap and then see where you are. That cap on the lower right corner of the board does look bad. They are Chemicons, right? I've seen a lot of Chemis fail without any visual indicator, and you can't accurately test them in circuit. I would just replace all the caps on that board and see where you are, even if that's not the root of the problem it should be done anyway, as those that aren't bulging now are probably not far behind.
