Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound

Update on this. I have gotten a new power supply as mentioned earlier and I just received my new main board it was a used model from ebay. I am getting voltages on the power supply and at the main board with the new one plugged in now but this replacement has no ready light no optical light and does nothing. How do I rule out anything else before I contact the seller and tell them I believe I have a dead board?

and since you do not get any LED indicator on the front panel of the TV either so there is something going on with the main board. Do you see any red light on the Optical port of the main board?
Correct I get no voltage on any of the pins with the main board connected. I see no red light on the optical port I turned off the room lights and put power to the TV and I cant see any light. Here is a pic of the board.

At 20-30 bucks on ebay, certainly worth a shot, for a 60 inch tv.

Just getting back to looking at this one today. Does the presence of voltage at HV pin help in any way here?

But I also do not expect HV pin to be 0V since it is fed through resistor network so it should have Voltage at that pin.
Right now the IC is dead bu that VCC of 14V is coming from some where.
Normally at startup the HV provide the Vcc to startup the IC and once it is running the Vcc is provided by the Aux winding. Something is not making sense right now.
I would check the resistors connected to HV pin 1 to see if they are OK or not, also check the resistance between hot side circuit ground and IC pins.
Ok you were correct, it didnt make sense. I put the IC back under a microscope and scraped a bunch of that coating off that was originally on the top of the IC and it was on all the pins too so it was insulating the HV pin from reading. It was like liquid resin or hot glue. At any rate I am reading 103V at HV now that it reads.

pretty sure I checked that schottky diode and have checked the resistors but I will check again. I am not sure how to test those tiny capacitors?

Be real careful since you are working in the hot deadly side of the circuit so do not touch anything with your body or your hands, at least plug this power supply board by itself into the GFCI outlet, no need to have any other boards connected to this power supply board, also do not let the meter probe slip on you.

    D201 is good I believe. D and S pins read 0.259 . D and G pins read the same.

I was finally able to melt the glue or resin or whatever off the U1 IC. Here is a pic of the number and I will post a datasheet that I think belongs to it.

I am not getting any voltage between those legs. Little jumpiness in the MV range but never gets to 1volt.
