Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
Update on this. I have gotten a new power supply as mentioned earlier and I just received my new main board it was a used model from ebay. I am getting voltages on the power supply and at the main board with the new one plugged in now but this replacement has no ready light no optical light and does nothing. How do I rule out anything else before I contact the seller and tell them I believe I have a dead board?

Correct I get no voltage on any of the pins with the main board connected. I see no red light on the optical port I turned off the room lights and put power to the TV and I cant see any light. Here is a pic of the board....

Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
Picked up a Power Board for this set. Got it all plugged up and it is still dead/no ready light wont turn on etc. However I DO have voltage at the board if I unplug the main board from the power supply. Here is what I get.
Pins:
Pin 1 - Pin 10 show 0v.
Pin 11 - 16.25v
Pin 12 - 4.3v
Pin 13- 0v
Pin 14 - 16v
Pin 15 - 16v...

Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
Ok you were correct, it didnt make sense. I put the IC back under a microscope and scraped a bunch of that coating off that was originally on the top of the IC and it was on all the pins too so it was insulating the HV pin from reading. It was like liquid resin or hot glue. At any rate I am reading 103V at HV now that it reads....

Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
D201 is good I believe. D and S pins read 0.259 . D and G pins read the same.
I was finally able to melt the glue or resin or whatever off the U1 IC. Here is a pic of the number and I will post a datasheet that I think belongs to it....

Here is what R12 reads and the resistor so you can check value. I think its good if I am calculating right....Last edited by rebelkustoms; 11-09-2020, 09:44 PM.

Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
It was the wrong cap for that spot and it was in backwards too. My rookie mistake, i may have had a beer or four by the time I was soldering it back in. At any rate I put new Nichion caps in.
Double checked them to make sure they were in the right spots and right way. Still no voltage at the pins yet but you are right I must have gotten voltage at least up to that cap for it to blow....

Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
I found the reason the cap blew, dumb mistake on my part, there are 2 different value caps right in that area and when i took them out to test I accidentally swapped spots, so the cap that blew was in the wrong spot and got damaged. My mistake.
I had to order a new cap so I just spent 5 bucks and got new nichion caps for the C9 and C111 spots and ALL the caps down the connector side of the board. With those in and the Transformers resoldered I am still getting 0V on all the pins. No Standby or anythin...

Re: VIZIO D60-F3 Wont Power ON, No Standby, No Picture, No Sound
Yes I thought the same thing. Was wondering if there was maybe a cold solder joint there and it reconnected when I soldered c9 and c111 back in. But I am not sure why 205 popped. I thought of just recapping all these but not sure if I have another problem or short happening here?

Damn, still not getting voltage on any of the pins at CN201 with C205 removedLast edited by rebelkustoms; 11-01-2020, 11:09 PM.
