Samsung TV UN40f5500afxza Backlight Strips Diodes

    Hi,

I have a Samsung TV, Model UN40f5500afxza with burnt out LEDs & Diodes.

    Strip Model numbers
    Samsung 2013svs40f L 8 rev 1.9 130212
    Samsung 2013svs40f R 5 rev1.9 130212
    LEDs
    Samsung 3228 3v 1w 350MA, Cool White Light

My problem is I don't know what two diodes to get for the strips, in a good video it was stated they where TVS package SOD323. The Diodes are marked 4E BA, and 2 BA. I have looked up SMD code with no luck. If anyone could please let me know what part numbers or specs for the 12v and 24v marked diodes are, it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you,

4e = cmosh-4e I also see the same backlight strips with BB diodes shown instead of BA, This might be a date code as I also see a T marked on the diode

hey op...check this site out: https://www.shopjimmy.com/shopjimmy-...rk-station.htm

look at the bottom for a list of samsung 3v leds. click each link (3 versions) and compare the back of an led off your strips. pick the ones that matches that pattern.

I think that you are right that are TVS diodes, schottky has no sense here, the writing 24v refers to the missing optional part that can be mounted in those 2 big solder places, so the options are 2, two diodes in series that protects against a peak over 24v (12+12) or one only diode at 24v, so get two smd tvs 12v .... or one big at 24v.... i'm very happy to see how it is made theese bars, now makers noticed how is important to protect leds, this was one of my big suspicions.. please can you confirm if you have bad leds? bye..

Yes I have 3 bad LEDs burnt out. But I still am confused on what diodes to get. I have the tools to do this job, but I am not good at just picking out diodes.

            Thank you for your help.

I would replace all the strips with new. The working LEDs have wear and have a high probability of failing in the future.

2x12v diodes or 1x24v diode, you must respect polarization.

LED problem on samsung UE55F6475, 2 strips work. The rest is flashing every second.
                  by Kingfreddie
                  Ok.. this is the story:
Have an old Samsung LED 3D TV (UE55F6475). First it started to lose light on the lower 40% of the screen now and then. Like for 10-60 mins and then it would work again. Then a bit later it just got stuck in that position. The lower 40% of the screen is dark, and it gets progressively darker the lower u go so it's obviously that LED strips where not working. I also looked for similar errors online and saw an exact copy and on that one it was faulty LED strips.

This is kinda how it looked, just that mine were at the bottom of the screen:

                  ...

Samsung UN55NU7300F Curved TV. Half side backlight out. Fixed by just removing the rear snap cover
                  by howardc64
TV was fixed just after removing Samsung's rear snap cover.

This curved TV's construction is rather interesting. When the snapped on back is removed, rest of the TV will relax the curvature. Top of LCD panel is loose as it wants to straighten out against the slightly curved bezel. Snapped back provide most of the curvature shape. So just simple disassembly of rear cover will allow the rest of the TV frame to relax its curvature. Thats probably what fixed it but no idea which connection. 4x LEDs are edge lit.

Maybe PSU->backlight connector didn't have a good contact?...

Samsung QN75Q6FNA backlight no display, red LED blink 2x, fault in panel
                  by howardc64
                  • Prior owner tried a replacement main board. No difference.
                  • Samsung 2x red blinking standby LED = panel fault
                  • Jumpered FB_TRDY_1 (pin 1 CN1300 left. main tcon->left side buffer boards) and FB_TRDY_3 (pin 95 CN1301 right. main tcon->right side buffer boards) This allows testing individual T-Con (on main board) connection to panel on this Samsung. Found fault on left side (viewing from rear of TV)
                  • Each side has 2 buffer boards, disconnected left side flex between 2 buffer boards. Fault is on the left most board.
                  • Tape masking eventually isolated to CN1300 pin 15 (CKV4_GOA) Display
                  ...
