    Hitachi 57SWX20B-- No picture

Problem: 57inch Hitachi 57SWX20B tv powers on but I get no picture.

I can hear it power up and it "sounds" like a tv getting ready to come on with the clicks and the power supply booting up but the screen never comes up. I can hear it running and all the leds light up but it never gives a picture.

I opened it up and I can see that no lights are coming out of the red/yellow/blue magnifying lights (i'm assuming that whole devise is the lamp).

I'm a novice with projection screen tv's but I'm good with electronics and I would be better with this if I had schematics to see how this actually worked.

My question is this: is this a bad cap somewhere (if so, how do I know where?) or is it a bad lamp or a bad projector?

Any help or suggestions is VERY much appreciated. If you need me to do any further troubleshooting and report back I will do so.

If nothing else, if someone could help explain exactly how these things function or give me a link to electronic schematic that would help too.

    Thanks

Are the tube filaments lit? Look at the ends of the tubes you should see an orange glow.

Magnifying lights? Those are the red, green, and blue CRTs. I'm sorry but I'd recommend getting a book about TV service first.

RPTVs are alot more complicated than their direct view CRT cousins especially the video circuits.

There is a host of things that can cause no picture.

Off the top of my head shorted Horizontal Output Transistor, Bad Flyback (not supplying HV anode or filament voltages to tubes), bad Vertical Output IC (causing chassis shutdown or cutting CRT drive to save tubes from burnin).

Elements of the past and the future combining to make something not quite as good as either.

      Service manual:

      http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download..._51SWX20B.html

      Covers your model.

You will need WinRAR to put all the pieces together to make the PDF file.

Ok I downloaded the service manual so just give me a few hours to look through it and check the schematics and I'll get back. Thanks for the suggestions and thank you for your patience with a novice like me.

Ok I'm not seeing the filament tubes on the schematic are they located at the bottom of the crt's?

            *bump*

There are no lights coming out of the crt's at all.

Epson 5040UB Projector No Lamp Strike Stuck in Startup - Blinking Status/Lamp Lights
              by vestaviascott
Hoping someone here can put me on the right track. I'm trying to troubleshoot/flowchart the "internal projector error" on my newly acquired Facebook Marketplace bought Epson 5040UB projector (3LED, not DLP). Owner said it needed new lamp, actually error code blink pattern indicates "Internal Projector Error, call Epson support". Unit is out of warranty as of 8/19

              Here's what happens:

              1) Power on
              2) Blue power indicator lights and the lens cover motor opens the lens cover, light fan noise heard
              3) Blue status light flashes for appx 4 minutes...

T-con suspect issue. Both ribbon cables no picture. One ribbon cable ok. (58pus8545)
              by Tr0ll
Hi guys! I realized you have a lot of knowledge here so i am hoping you could point me in right direction with my odd issue.

The Tv is a Philips 58PUS8545/12, it had no picture but working backlights.

              Original T-con:
Opened the Tv and tested to unplug one ribbon cable at a time. With this test i could see that i got fine picture on both halves as long as there was only one ribbon cable connected, with two connected picture were gone.

              First replacement T-con:

I thought it might be t-con and ordered new t-con from china(supposedly tested)...

SAMSUNG UN55KS9000F picture fades then distorts into vertical lines after 20 seconds
              by JJAAMM
This was my main TV for the last 6 years. I'm not inclined to throw out a $2600 TV so quickly so I'm trying to investigate the issue.

              Problem
TV was disconnected from power for 6 months during construction. When I plugged it yesterday picture was fine, after 30 seconds it dimmed then started developing horizontal lines, picture then starts to ghost vertically until it degrades into vertical streaks. TV always displays a perfect picture when cold. I can unplug TV for 5 minutes and plug it back in and picture is restored for 20 seconds. I can also keep it in standby mode...

Samsung TV model UE50TU: rebooting, backlight, sound, but no picture
              by TR103
              Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
              - sound and backlight, but no picture
              - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
              - it keeps rebooting
              - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
              - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

              - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

HITACHI 55HK6T64U Picture ghosting and jumping
              by JackUzi
              Hi all,

First post so please bear with

So I found a similar issue on another thread but have been advised to open a new one so here it is.

One day this TV started doing this:

              https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=42QlTOSOCjw

This happens on all inputs and menu screens.

Thank you to nomoresonys for previous advice - to check voltage on powerboard connector and possible loose/bad tab bond.

I've opened it up and tried reseating all the ribbon connections but the problem remains. I need some support in testing...
