Sagem Axium HD-L32 LCD - Horizontal Lines

    [Hello, first post]

I picked up a Sagem HD-L32 LCD TV with a display problem - horizontal lines, flickering across the screen. The lines are mostly black, green or red. The TV picture is visible behind/through the lines.

There's a vid on youtube of the problem: Sagem HD-L32

It happens as soon as you turn it on, and regardless of the input source (scart or RF). The longest I've left it on is about 20 minutes and it didn't appear to get worse (or better).

I'm hoping it's a capacitor problem, but before I try to open it up (and leave its contents spread around the room for days ) I thought I'd check on here. So does it sound like a capacitor issue?

I'll update this thread with more details when I get round to opening it up.

    Thanks

[Bumping my old thread as I've finally got round to opening it up for a look... ]

I was hoping to find some obviously bulging low quality caps, but the ones in the power supply section are all Rubycon and look fine. Mostly Rubycon elsewhere too. It's all quite clean inside too. I removed and re-seated the connectors between the mainboard and the inverter board and the other board connected to the LCD, but it's made no difference.

Here's how it looks on screen:

Anyone got any suggestions to help narrow down the problem?

    Cheers

Scaler on main board, t-con, or panel would be my guesses. Nothing much can be doen if it's the panel. I'd look the t-con over for voltage regulators and make sure they are providing the proper voltage. After that, do the same for the main board.

        Thanks for the suggestions.

The T-Con board is the one at the top centre behind the LCD, right?

It's marked V32B C3. Looks like this one:

How can I work out what the voltages should be?

[I should add (in case it's not obvious), this is the first LCD TV I've pulled apart I've repaired a few digibox power supplies, but just obvious faults.]

The easiest way is to look up the part number of any three or four terminal devices, particularly those close to capacitors. In many cases the part number includes the output voltage.

            Thanks Bill.

I think I'm just going to give up on this one Getting access to the boards while the TV is powered on is pretty difficult.

Samsung QN70Q6DTA Ghost or horizontal lines after tape fix horizontal line
              by Ihandyrepair
              Hi guys

I just started fixing 4k TV few months ago. so I am still learning a lot
I got this tv from friend complaint is ghosting or horizontal lines on image.

never saw the original symptom but I took the tv back home. the funny part is that after bringing to home, the tv worked fine no issue for 3 weeks.
then it started to show the ghosting white image.
I started using the tape method, but this tv does not have a T con board and it has only 1 ribbon cable from main board to the tv panel.
it has 3 thin small boards at the bottom of the...

Sony XBR-65X750D Horizontal lines bottom of screen
              by ggil44
Hi, I have a Sony XBR-65X750D that has horizontal lines at the bottom 6 inches of the screen. These lines appear to be every other line because the picture is still quite visible behind those lines. The lines appear all the time with a few other lines above and below the 6 inch level blinking on and off at about 2 second intervals. I'm not sure if this is a panel issue or power supply/main board problem. I did replace the T-Con board without any change in the problem. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

Sony XBR-85X950G Gray horizontal lines and vertical picture shift diagnosis?
              by noisykid
5.5 year old 85 inch Sony Bravia X950G started showing gray horizontal lines across the bottom of the screen and the picture shifts slightly vertically when it happens. The lines sometimes get bigger/smaller vertically and bounce back. See the video for the problem. It seems to be happening after it warms up after an hour or so. Happens regardless of source. Right now there's nothing but power cable connected and it's happening. We did hook up a new Nintendo Switch to our HDMI switching receiver today, and played for a while with no issues, but this problem didn't occur til a few hours later while...

              Samsung UN46C8000XFXZA Horizontal lines
              by x_orange90_x
I just acquired this 3D LED yesterday and it has horizontal lines on a little more than half of the screen. When I first turn it on it has thin black lines going across that makes the image look serrated, and then shortly after patterns of thicker red lines fade in. If I turn it off and right back on it will reset to just the black lines and the red will again fade onto the screen.

I initially thought tab bonds, but flexing the bezel makes no difference, and the fact the image sort of resets after cycling power is different. I haven't opened it up yet to actually test applying...

              Samsung QE50Q67TAU - horizontal lines
              by Rubenlily
              Hello,

First of all I'm new here. While looking I found this amazing forum and I'm very happy I did. Now for my problem:

I picked up a Samsung UHD QLED QE50Q67TAU from 2021 for $50 knowing it was defective. The seller said it had black lines and that it could get stuck in boot randomly.

I've tried a new power cable, hard reset, opening up and jiggling all cables, pressing everywhere to see if I get a reaction but I've gotten nothing. I've tried the tape method but I've only managed to get the lines worse.

I'm no expert but I've done the tape...
