Questions on Identifying SMD LED Specs

Is there any easy way to tell a 6v LED from a 3v? I read the 6v are usually just two 3v in the same package. Is this something that can visibly be observed?

Which ones appear to be more common and what's the benefit of one over the other? Do manufacturers tend to stick with one rating or another?

And just for fun.. Anyone getting bored of most modern repairs consisting of replacing LEDs? Almost all the TVs I "troubleshoot" these days are plagued with faulty LED backlights. The last real interesting one was a broken solder joint on an SMD capacitor on a T-Con - and that was an older CFL setup.

I've only seen 6V LEDs on 32 inch LG LB series and a few other models. Majority are 3V. LG uses a reverse footprint from Samsungs. A LED tester will tell you the voltage drop across the LED. You may be able to use a multimeter in diode test mode. Not sure if they will read as high as 6V.
