Update for those who find this thread looking for answers:
There are couple revisions of this monitor I bought a broken one for super cheap hoping it would have the same panel but they have different panels inside.
The one with broken TCON has a barcode with CF5H979XXXXXX and has HKC HKM238FJ01
The one I got broken has a barcode QB4V985 and has HKC HKM238FC01 panel
The difference also comes with power supply. The 1st one has 1.5 A power supply, the 2nd one has 2.5 A power supply.
Tcon inside is different, it has SG2381B01-2-xc-3 driver board with CSOT CS603 and himax chip. (damn if only I got this revision instead, would be a simple fix)
Looking through auctions barcode is pretty consistent across these, I already found two with the same barcode as mine so if I get them I will update this post for ones who need it.

by kcaHello all ~
Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.
When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.
I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped... -
Good day, I have a TCL TV: Model 43s423. After turning ON the TV, the ROKU TV logo appears with fine lines over the whole screen, then after a while there are vertical bands in the middle of the screen top to bottom and the TV tries to update its firmware but I do not have the remote to connect it to my new network connection. Also the Power ON light blinks 2 times in quick succession. When I remove the ribbon on the right of the tcon board the left side of the screen shows but with fine lines. If I remove the left side ribbon and connect the right side ribbon the whole screen is blank with...

by x_orange90_xJust bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

by advantThis thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.
I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match... -
by rimwallThis TV was showing a fine image and pulsing with a partial double image (offset vertically) every few seconds. I taped 8 clock pins on one ribbon cable from the Tcon to the panel. It stopped the double image, but some pulsing in intensity was still visible. I then taped another 8 clock pins on the same ribbon cable and the image is now ‘fixed’. Although I understand this results in some loss of resolution, presumably because the clock signal degrades as it passes horizontally across the screen.
I am wondering - do these symptoms and ‘fix’ mean that it’s a Tcon fault or... - Loading...
