Thanks. Is there any way to estimate the inductor rating? I'd rather replace it, but if it can be done with little detriment to the operation of the radio, I might just try jumping....
Hey, guys.. I was replacing an amplifier in a Pioneer AVH-210EX. When I pulled off the kapton tape, the tops of two SMD components came off with it. Can anyone help me identify these two packages?...
Is there any easy way to tell a 6v LED from a 3v? I read the 6v are usually just two 3v in the same package. Is this something that can visibly be observed?
Which ones appear to be more common and what's the benefit of one over the other? Do manufacturers tend to stick with one rating or another?
And just for fun.. Anyone getting bored of most modern repairs consisting of replacing LEDs? Almost all the TVs I "troubleshoot" these days are plagued with faulty LED backlights. The last real interesting one was a broken solder joint on an SMD capacitor on a T-Con...
I looked over all the connections with high magnification and couldn't see anything suspicious. I guess my debate now will be whether to blow on a tcon. I'm not optimistic about that.
No visible damage to the tabs. No manipulation of the ribbons changes the symptoms. I'm feeling like the tabs must be the culprit, but I'm really hoping it's something else....
I had this TV for a few years. I got it for free and replaced a bad LED. Another LED went out this weekend. I finally replaced it, but when I put it back together, I could see thick vertical lines on the left side of the screen. I cleaned and reseated the ribbon cables. I even swapped the cables left and right. This made no difference. Did I manage to damage the panel? Or is it possible the t-con took a hit?...
Thanks! I've just got two single large suction cups I've used from Harbor Freight. The doubles with the handle definitely look better. I'll probably stop for them later.
My most worrisome times are always lifting the panels and hoping not to drop them when I move them away from the set....
Thanks for the reply! I didn't take the first screw out yet. The TV works - but with the dark spots (and that temporary image persistence). I just used a solid white video to better see the situation.
I guess I'll pull the unit apart this weekend and replace some LEDs. ...
Hey, guys! I picked up this set last night. The owner complained the picture would turn off after various lengths of time, but the sound would persist. I think I'm looking at two bad LED strips. In previous sets I've worked on, a single LED failure caused the whole backlight to turn off. Is it possible only certain strips are failing here?
I've not come across the mura effect yet. Could this be the issue? I also noticed temporary image persistence after sitting in the menu for some time.
I attached a picture of it on a solid white screen.
Re: Insignia NS-L46Q120 - TV Shuts Down - Apparently Bad T-Con Board
Thanks, budm. I'm going to go through and try to read those values. When I was probing around, I found a diode that is short to ground at both the anode and cathode only when the main board is connected. If I disconnect the LVDS cable from the main board, the diode appears to function normally. Could this be a clue to the problem, or is it useless without a clear schematic?...
Re: Insignia NS-L46Q120 - TV Shuts Down - Apparently Bad T-Con Board
It's a T460HW03 V5.
I looked at the buck converter output; it looks steady and normal. It's the 12v input on the board that drops gradually within a period of about fifteen seconds. I haven't found any shorted caps yet.
Re: Panasonic TX-L32E6B goes off after a few seconds
I can't tell if that dark spot midway up the left side of the screen is actually present (bad LEDs?) or if the shadows and reflections are playing tricks. Can you confirm this dark area is present on the screen?
