Toshiba DVD player disc stops spinning

I have a Toshiba dvd player SD3005KB-2 it sometimes states bad disc, freezes while playing and stops automatically. Any advice please?

Have you tried cleaning the laser lens cover

You could also check if the spindle motor spins freely, if the motor does'nt spin properly it can show this type of problem, especially when the motor needs to run at a slower speed.

What lubrication can I use on the rails by the lens. Makes a sticking sound.

I found out with my Toshiba DVD video player Model no. SD3005KB-2 works properly, when I take the lid off, the top lid, when I put it back on it states bad disc, it spins with the round thing making red lights and clicking noises.

More information here found out the caps are ZHN and KSD!

If I clean the disc with isopropyl alcohol then it plays, I left all the cables unplugged overnight then it works a bit better. I put sewing machine oil on the pulley part of metal.

I think this ribbon cable need s to be replaced where do I find replacement from?

Is the other end damaged ?
The length is required, the pitch and number of contacts and also if they are on the same side or opposite (forward/reverse).
You could always trim off the damaged part and sand back the insulation if there is enough slack in the cable.

That cable looks perfectly fine, if the cable was bad the dvd would not work at all. The only way that cable would go bad is if you damaged it in some way.

The left edge in the first photo looks iffy although it could be the blurry photo/lighting.

Without screws it still states bad disc.

Just trim the bad piece off, I use a scalpel or safety razor blade, then carefully scrape or use fine sand paper to sand away the plastic coating.

I just cleaned the optical lens must of touched it. Spins like crazy. Remember to clean the lens with isopropyl alcohol to get it to spin to win.

Can you please give me a link to Farnell, they sell it there I got to buy some items there too.

check out your local motor factors for electrical cleaner spray . then check whats in it . stuff i get is 97 percent isopropyl .and its cheap to buy . yellow can

No states bad disc, but it spins the disc.
