    Panasonic P60ST60 7 lights, then 8 lights, then 10

    Hi all,

I am so thankful to have found this community. Don't think I'd have a chance in hell at fixing my current situation if not!

Recently I went to turn on my Panasonic ST60 and was greeted with a lovely light show of 7 red blinks. I fell asleep watching the TV so I don't know if there were any pops or noises when it shut off last.

Apparently 7 blinks indicates SD/SU/SC so I took the back panel off and troubleshooted as follows.

Unplugged SD board, 7 lights still

Unplugged SU board, 7 lights still

Unplugged SC board, now 8 lights

Replugged SC Board with SD/SU unplugged, ground screws removed, and jumper at SC50. 7 lights

At this point I am hoping this confirms simple SC Board fault and I can order the part and be on my way.

Disconnect SC2, SS11, P35, 3 white ribbons at the A-board to hopefully get a solid light and isolate issue to SC Board. Nope. Now 10 blinks

Where does this leave me? Attached are pictures of my panel and boards. I don't see any visible shorting.

Could SC and A board failed at the same time or am I not understanding the results of my testing?

    Thanks

This 10 blink diagnosis sounds very similar to my issue, and P60ST60 troubleshooting tech guide states 8 blinks is normal to indicate SC board. Maybe I should just get a SC board and see what happens given how cheap they are these days. Any thoughts?

And did I ruin my set because I might have plugged P35 back in while the set was ON? I don't know which were plugged in exactly, but I plugged a few back in before I realized it was still plugged in. Ugh. No sparks or anything crazy, and it all cycles through all the same light sequences as before.....

Edit: Actually is the panel even powered in the flashing state? I think it turns off when the error codes trips and goes into SOS mode flashing lights, right? If so, it was sitting plugged in SOS mode for about 5 minutes before I started plugging the cables back in.

I think the new SC Bd will fix your problem.

Panasonic switching power supply daughter board has two 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors which I do not keep in stock
        by sam_sam_sam
I did not have any 27uf @ 50 volt capacitors but one nice thing is that it has enough room for two capacitors in parallel a 22uf and a 4.7uf @ 50 volts 22 plus 4.7 equals 26.7uf which so very close to 27uf I will show some pictures of it sometime tomorrow

This is one of the shit est boards I seen in a very long time and it was the daughter board the traces just lifting off the board I had to use the capacitor leads to repair the the traces and the main board is not any better because I had to repair several traces for the daughter board to the main board

        After all of...

Panasonic TC-P54VT25 No image. A or D board?
        by canadaboy25
I have a Panasonic TC-P54VT25 that will power on and prime the display but there is no image at all.

The panel is primed as there is a slight glow from the entire panel. This means the problem should be logic related. The service manual also confirms this and recommends replacing the A or the D board.

I have tried to get the TV to display the test sequence but I have been unable to and I don't even know if this TV has a test sequence or not. I tried following tom66's instructions in post #3 on this thread https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26790. There was...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
        by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

        Hi everyone!

Having said that I come to the gist of my post on the forum as the title suggests.
For my passion for technology I'm now collecting several...

Panasonic th-p50s10d - blinky red, SC board go boom
        by dajoker
My old plasma died when one night recently. When I got to it it was giving a 3.3v sos (3 blinks).
I chased my way through the PSU, and a board, with no results.
Replacing a few bulged caps in the PSU, I eventually got to the SC board that had piles of shorts, a quick cheap replacement from china and the tv powers up again, except
I only have the right half of the picture.
        Left half is completely blank.
now the c3 board running this side of the screen has its 3.3 and 5v onto the buffer ic and its got the 60v, so that all seems good.
        all the other voltage rails...
