LG 42" Plasma Model 42PG20R-AFB (No picture)

    HI guys,
I have another beast of a TV and lack the knowledge to fault find which board to look at.
When starting this TV you hear a click and Vs and Va come up as per plasma label but there is no pre-charge and no picture. As a matter of fact the Y-SUS and Z SUS boards are not getting the slightest heat on the heat sinks meaning they are not being driven at all.
The led on front panel shows TV is in the on state and when I press vol+ or Vol- the standby light flickers indicating that the main is at some extent operating.
At this point i can suspect any board especially the logic control board which has only one green light with the other two being off or perhaps something wrong with the main board.
Unlike the Samsung where you can short out two pins on the control board and force the controller to generate a test pattern to the plasma boards on the LG i know nothing like that.
Any fault finding tips would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards
    Angelos

A photo of the logic board, there are usually a couple of holes that are bridged for the test pattern.

Here are the picture of both sides of the logic board as discussed.

Just to the right of the sticker, EXT_AUTO_GEN.

Great. I will bridge the two pins and see what happens...

You also have to unplug the ribbon cable from the mainboard to the logic control board.

Ok, i shorted the auto gen pins and removed the LVDS cable to the logic board. Switched on set and nothing still no panel drive.
Where do i go from here? I measure no shorts on Vs, Va etc. Those mosfets i tested all had no shorts on their pins.

You will have to test the igbt's in diode mode. Removing them is best when testing.

Have you had an igbt go open circuit? How do we test those since some transistors do not get triggered by the small voltage the multi metet produces or am i wrong?

Yes, I have. I have a cheap transistor tester that I use, after testing with my DMM. See pics.

Sometimes original bad igbt's read like this too.

                            Hi!!
Yesterday I was installing a new Wifi thermostat for my domestic gas water heater model Vaillant 242/2-3, and accidentlly one wire from mains touched one wire from the thermostat output contacts. This shut off the heater so I finished installing the thermostat and then went out to check the heater

I found one fuse blown (T2 250V). Replaced it with another equivalent fuse and it blew right away. I measured L-N in mains input and I sometimes got 4K but sometimes, not sure why, I got 100 Ohm...
At a certain point, moving stuff around, I put all wires back in place and...

                            Hi, I have a Samsung UE50TU with:
                            - sound and backlight, but no picture
                            - when it arrived, it had a picture for a few seconds
                            - it keeps rebooting
                            - without ribbon cable between the two panel boards, it does not reboot but I have no picture
                            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel, it does not reboot (but obviously i have no picture)
                            - when i try a tape fix, its keeps rebooting, unless I tape off pin 1 (the innermost pin). In that case it does not reboot but I have no picture.

                            - without cable between mainboard and lcd panel and with a jumpered...

Vizio e601i-A3 - Has Sound and Display, But No Backlight - Bad Power Supply Board or Bad LED Bulbs ?
                            by Tynan Dill
I was given this TV from my great uncle. He said it just wouldn't turn on one day out of nowhere, replaced the TV, and gave it to me to possibly fix and use for myself.

Upon bringing it home and plugging it up, it showed a standby light.

I powered it on and without a flashlight, the display showed the "V" but the lighting is very dim, but visible.

The screen seems to blackout and stay black, but with a flashlight I can see the display.

With my Playstation 4 connected via HDMI, and running a game I can hear sound.

                            Assuming...

Help Needed with LG TV Power Board Repair (Model No: OLED 55EG9A7V, Board No: LGP55B7-170P)
                            by justice171
                            Hi everyone,

I'm currently troubleshooting an issue with my LG TV (Model No: OLED 55EG9A7V, Power Board No: LGP55B7-170P) and would appreciate your guidance.

When I press the power button, the standby LED flickers three times, and the relay clicks multiple times before stopping. During this time, I measured the voltages:
                            • Over P201: I receive all the correct voltages.
                            • Over P202: I only receive 12V, but the 24V is missing.

The 24V is used to power the display board (Tcon) via the flex cable, but even when I disconnect the flex cable, the 24V is still not present....

Samsung UN55H8000AF - No Picture, Working Backlight, Replaced T-Con Board
                            by ermals
                            Hi all!
I've recently run into an issue with my Samsung UN55H8000AF LED TV displaying no image. I've done quite a bit of research in terms of what could be wrong with it. Below are the steps I've taken prior to reaching out here for some assistance:

                            1. I've tried replacing the T-Con board (BN95-01594A), twice and have still experienced the same issue with all the boards I've tested with.
                            2. I've tried to remove one side of the ribbon cable that goes from the T-Con board to the panel and still not getting any image on left or right side.
                            3. I've checked voltages...
