Polaroid LE-32GCL-Y Turns on then off, displaying logo

    Hi,

I'm trying to troubleshoot and fix a Polaroid LE-32GCL-Y that belongs to my Sister.

The TV Turns on and shows the Polaroid logo then after around 30 seconds it then restarts, it does the power cycling until the TV is unplugged.

The remote is able to bring the TV out of standby mode(once plugged in mains), but then loops on above issue, once it's turned on. No other buttons on the remote will work once it's on, before restarting again.

I've taken the back off and checked all capacitors and no bulging has occurred, after reading this thread: https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=59827

I'm thinking maybe it's worth me replacing the Eeprom chip, any advice before I go ahead and do this?

    Details of the TV:

    TV Model: Polaroid LE-32GCL-Y
    Chassis #: SY14481010002799 (705-320-L3F54)
    Board: TP.SIS321.P83
    Screen: LS3209UWTH

    Many thanks for any help.

Yeah, I had a 32" Seiki with the identical symptom and an almost identical board.
Replacing the eeprom is the first thing i would do.

There is this dump that you could try if you have a programmer.

      Thanks for replying diif!

Okay I'll give replacing the eeprom a go, because I don't have a programmer sadly.

Do you have any guidance on how I can identify the eeprom on the board? On the one I have, there are two chips very similar to each other. One is near the heat sink of what i assume is the processing unit and then there is another to the top left of this heat sink, around 3 - 4 inches away.

      Many thanks again fella!

You're welcome, I think it's U5 next to the heatsink. You can usually identify the IC from the markings on the top.
