    convergence problem 42h82

My old Big screen tv started acting weird, the whole screen will sometimes be entirely horizontal lines (which they will switch from red horizontal lines to blue and back). I've read a little on this and what I am seeing is to replace the SMT caps, and was wondering how do you identify values on SMD caps?

the caps I am looking at replacing are:
    u4
    100
    16v

    2b
    10
    16v

    t1
    100
    6v

i am assuming theses are all 16v and 6v, 100uf and 10uf, but what does u4, 2b, and t1 mean???

is that your toshiba with this notorious model? yes mostly the 10uF SMD caps are the responsible for this. Also change out 100uF and some 470uF. I use standard radial caps and legs bent outwards and trimmed and soldered to the pads, standing up. Also it is vital that to resolder whole convergence area including the wire jumpers on the circuit board (small signal mainboard) near inductor coils.

    Cheers, Wizard
