Samsung UN40D6000XFZA Ver H302 Possible Bad T-CON or Panel

    Hello!

I'm working on a Samsung UN40D6000XFZA ver H302 LED backlight LCD and I am having some issues determining if the T-CON is bad or if the panel itself is bad.

If I unplug both ribbon cables that go from the T-CON to the panel, and turn the TV on, the panel is messed up, but only for a little bit. Then it goes completely back and no lines.

If, looking at the T-CON, I remove the right ribbon cable and leave the left in, and turn on the TV, none of the Samsung logo appears. If I do it the other way, the first half of the Samsung logo appears. However, if both cables are in, the entire Samsung logo appears.

There are vertical lines going down the screen, on each half. Could this be a bad T-CON or is this a bad panel? It seems like a really nice television, and I'm hoping it's not the panel.

It's a little hard to tell from the pictures, but if I unplug, let's say the left ribbon cable bfrom the T-CON, the vertical lines are still on the left hand side of the TV, but only for a bit. After a little bit of time, they go away...When both cables are removed, the lines are there for only a little, then completely go away.

There's also maybe two rows at the top of the screen, when viewing the screen on the right hand side, of a horizontal dotted line. That makes me think bad panel. That's only there when both ribbon cables from the T-CON are unhooked though.

I am not 100% sure on the name of the boards that connect to the panel and the T-CON. I have always referred to these boards as driver boards. I've taken the cables that come from these boards, the ones that go into the panel itself, and have touched them lightly, hoping something would change on the TV, but nothing.

What's giving me some troubles identifying the fault, the vertical lines are almost symmetrical, as you can see in this video, with a video source hooked up to the TV.

TCL 50S535 bad tcon or panel issue?
        by x_orange90_x
Just bought this for 10 bucks yesterday hoping to fix it. The guy said water dropped inside from a dehumidifier hose and it started showing black and white vertical bars then went blank. When I got it home and turned it on it came on fine and displayed correctly but I was noticing faint vertical bars in the image. After a little bit I turned it off and back on and it was a black screen again. I opened it up to check for water damage and corrosion but didn't find anything of the sort. I cleaned the ribbons anyway and reconnected them but still got a blank screen. If I disconnect the right side...

Driving a Sharp TCON/panel with a universal main board
        by advant
This thread is about trying to get an Universal Main Board to work with a Sharp TCON and panel.

I have a Sharp LC-46D85UN TV that has had a main board issue. Since this model is from 2009, I am not able to find an exact replacement of the main board. Instead, I decided to see if I can future proof this tv by getting a Universal Main Board (T53U21.2) from China to work with the Sharp TCON (CPWBX4291TPZA) and panel. The universal main board supports a 8 bit dual channel LVDS interface whereas the TCON requires a 10 bit dual channel LVDS input. I have modded the LVDS connector to match...

un60j620dafxza - Samsung No Display Problem
        by stylishconsultant
        Hi All,

        Need help.

I have a samsung un60j620dafxza led tv. When I plug it in it has no display, no sounds, and no standby lights.

So I opened the tv and disconnected the power to the mainboard and the backlight powered up. This according to many people says that this is a mainboard
problem. I checked the voltage coming from the stb and I read 1.3 volts on pins 1,3,5 and 7 which are low volts instead of 13 volts which i think the lcd panel
might be drawing too much power from the power supply that it prevents the right voltage going to the mainboard....

Samsung UN50TU8000 - Dead Panel Forensic Questions
        by KYBOSH
I came across a 50inch TU8000 that wouldnt start up properly (blinking stand-by light, backlights would cycle on and off).

When i opened it up and removed the power to the mainboard the backlights powered up and everything looked uniform.
When reconnected the mainboard but disconnected the flex cable to the panel i heard the TV startup with the intro sound.

Later I checked for shorts on the panel PCB boards but could not find anything.
When I took a look with the FLIR i noticed the 2 resistors...
