It looks correct if that's a 1 on the board next to the pin

I was hoping it was wrong because the other 2 look right and I smoked a resistor. I replaced 3 transistors they all look correct. They can go in either way right?

        Re: chip orientation

That ncp1608 is the pfc ic, it likely drives a mosfet that is shorted, What's the board used in? Is this a Sharp power supply board by chance?
If it is, and that R7900 is blown, IC7903 shorted.
As for transistors, they only go in one way, the correct way.

Yes Sharp DPS-162KP. I did replace 7903 and joints look good but it fried also now that I looked at it.

Replace ic and mosfet, plugged in and fried it again....ugh!

              Re: chip orientation

Which ic are you talking about? What mosfet are you refering to?
the ic in post #1 has nothing to do with the ic pictured in post #5
What number are you replacing IC7903 with? IC 7903 is the standby controler ic. It has nothing to do with any mosfets,

The blown resistor in post #3 picture 3 is the fuse resistor for the standby ic IC7903

I replaced 3 transistors they all look correct. They can go in either way right?
You have likely caused more problems by installing parts backwards

Ic7903 was replaced and resistor that was blown. Transistors only can mount up one way. I replaced everything in this kit. https://www.shopjimmy.com/sharp-runt...repair-kit.htm

Guide to transplant MEC1503 EC chip and EEPROM reprogamming for T14s gen 2 and X13 gen 2
                    by acedogblast
This is a guide that I am writing for helping others to replace their MEC1503 EC chip if it breaks (or to get around an inconvenient prompt to the BIOS). This forum has been extremely helpful to me so I would like to contribute to help others. I will tell you right now that this task is very difficult to do. You MUST have experience and tools to do precision micro-soldering, BGA reballing, trace repair, and general laptop repair skills.

There are some specialty tools needed to do this task. The replacement MEC1503 chips can be acquired from Aliexpress. Do not buy the bare chips as...

Help EZP2023+ updated chip database for w25q256jveq?
                    by Troystain
Hello, anyone here have updated ezp2023+ chip database in .dat file format.

I need to add w25q256jveq chip but I do not know what data should I type.

I'm using the ezp chip dabase editor posted from here https://www.badcaps.net/forum/troubl...ro-programmers

The currenty unit model that I am trying to detect is HP elitebook 640 g9 which is currently locked on admin bios....

Acer e15-e5-576g-5762 bricked. Bios chip won't interface in AsProgrammer.
                    by inck243
Thanks for any help. The board version is DAZAARMB6E0 REV: E. The bios chip is winbond 25Q64JVSIQ1736. W25Q64JV is not available in AsProgrammer -- only BV CV FV or FW_1.8c. The chip won't interface with asProgrammer and a CH341A. When I have this chip on the board, the laptop will not post but when I plug it in to power, the blue LED lights up, also the orange when the battery is connected. When I push the power on button, keyboard backlight turns on and the fan starts briefely then turns off. But I can't do anything to program this bios chip so I bought another one.

                    The BIOS...

Lenovo laptop does not turn on, what does this number mean in a BIOS chip?
                    by thxd43
Hello, first of all, excuse me, I am using the translator, English is not my native language.

                    I have a Lenovo ideapad 330S - 14IKB laptop.

The tablet did not recognize me when I connected it, so I checked the device manager and I realized that there were many with the exclamation mark, so one by one I began to update their drivers until the sign disappeared of admiration, I even updated the BIOS, and the laptop rebooted normally and worked, so far so good, but the tablet still did not recognize me, I read on the internet that it could be due to a...

How can I be sure that my EC chip is dead?
                    by double_DD
                    Hi all,

As the title suggests, how can I be sure that my EC chip is really dead?

I've recently gotten into this hobby of laptop repairs, and have successfully brought back to life a couple with some easy fixes, mostly shorted caps.

Now I'm working on HP Probook 455 G8, that had some "devil" run around on 3V line, burning a bunch of stuff. Luckily I have a dead 455G7 (for spare parts) so I managed to fix it (swapped burned parts) to a point that it will charge (both on barrel jack and usb-c), but it doesn't want to turn on. There is a 3V3 on a keyboard...
