    Difficult question for 17MB82s

I have a 40'' TV using the cursed 17MB82S board and my problem was the "red light flashing". I found a pre-used 17MB82S near me and i decided to buy it from e-bay. When i put it on the TV worked just to find out the picture was upside-down and the resolution 800X600 or lower. Then i checked the card i bought and it wasn't exactly the same in fact it was for 42'' TV. I couldn't solve this even from the service menu. Anyone knows if i can reprogram the board to work with my 40''. set?

You have to flash the exact firmware for you tv by usb, or use a programmer and program a dump that fits your chassis+screen. You need a soldering gun and a programmer. The memory chips in the 17MB82S are usually U10 and U12. Also have in mind that you might have no reception or audio based on the dumps that you use. If you cannot find help elsewhere I can order the firmware by usb for 10$.

Yes you may use the u10 and u12 chips from the previous board.

          Hi all,
First time trying to fix a TV for a friend, it's a Bush DLED32165HD.
          Power Board - 17IPS11
          Mainboard - 17MBS82S
          Panel - VES315WNDB-02

Red blinking standby light is on steady, press power button on remote and light flashes 7 times then stays steady, press power on remote again light flashes 10 times and then goes off.
Checked all the voltages on the power board inc backlight circuit, they all read ok and are stable. Backlights tested with backlight tester and all work fine (2 strips x11LED on each).
No picture, backlight or sound just blinking...

          Another tango with the 17mb82s
          by snoptel
          Hi guys,

I have a cheap LCD TV with a VESTEL PS and a 17mb82s board.

Outta de blue the led flashes red 7 times, the back light comes on for a second and starts this loop over again.

Been reading about re-flashing the eprom chip and how they have to be frozen in order to load the USB.

Any input from the fellow hackers in the forum?

          Thanks.

          Problem

This is an LG edge LED lit LCD Display. The LEDs are on the bottom edge of the display. There are 2 bars (left and right) Each bar has many LEDs and a 6 pin connector. Each pin drive several LEDs thus is the highest current flow / heat junction. The weak lead free solder gradually fails with thermal expansion/contraction cycling and increases resistance. PSU will compensate up to a point, then when the current is too high, PSU just shut down the backlight causing a dark display. I have even seen one which the connector just fell off as solder points became completely detached....
