TX-L50B6B Failing to start up backlight flicker

    Hi.

    I have a Panasonic TX-L50B6B (Vestel, I beleive)

TV tries to start up, during this time the backlight will flicker every second or so
After a couple of flickers TV turns off and red light flashes every 4-5 seconds.

I have removed the back and gave a visual inspection and everything looks fine to me. This TV has a what I believe to be a Backlight Inverter Board, I unplugged this and applied power to set and the set still turns off after the same amount of time (without backlights obviously)
Having read a few threads it seams it may be a backlight problem which is why I unplugged the inverter as I thought no inverter would rule that out (happy to be proved wrong)

I have no real electrical background Knowledge but I am not a complete idiot and do realise what power is where and to be careful. I may further add that I try to repair all of my own household electrical items as I am a tight Git.

Thanks in Advance for any posts relating to this and I have came here as you guys helped me about 10yr ago, during the Samsung bad capacitor period.

    Thanks Guys.

One blink of the power LED indicates a problem in the inverter circuit.

One there for 25+10, may be some cheaper, just stopped at first one I saw, don't know if it will fix but that's what 1 blink code comes up with. As always triple check to try to insure a match whenever buying a part, maybe check the resistors on the board with a multimeter, it may be a 50 cent fix rather than 35 pounds. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INVERTER-...aSl:rk:26:pf:0

may want to check Scotty16's thread there, just a few rows down. https://www.badcaps.net/forum/showthread.php?t=51587

          Hi NomoreSonys.

Thanks for the replies and suggestions.
After having a good look around the site and the net, it seems these are terrible for backlights going. I have read a few where the inverter board was replaced and problem stayed the same. I think I will strip out the boards and tip it as I never know what I will find in my job and I quite often come across TV’s.
My other TV is a 55 inch Logik (vestel) I repaired that by replacing a few diodes after reading a thread or two on here, it owes my about £1 which is just over $1 in today’s rates

Thanks again Friend and I will nip in every now and then to pick everybody’s brains.

Keep safe Pal and best wishes from the UK

These might respond well to the current mod. here where they switch out a couple resistors. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ogtfojsIZK8
