Searched some old posts and google, some say 30J124 are Q12 Q13 sus up and some say they are the q21 q22 sus down. If any one has a ebr66607501 board handy and can take a quick look that would be much appreciated. Thanks

The only apparent difference I can see between the 30F124 and 30J124 is the 30F124 is rated at 300v and the 30J124 is rated at 600v. It seems you can replace the 30F124 with a 30J124.

I found this video that shows the location of the two on a similar model TV (perhaps). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ozJ-YEWcJTg

Thanks for the info, so to be safe I will replace them all with 30J124.

Panasonic TX-P42UT30E, IGBTs on the SN board
          by rivetcity
          Hi,

I'm having problems with my plasma Panasonic p42txu32e. The issue started about 12 months ago.

I have a remote controlled main outlet so whenever I turn off the TV set at night, I also switch off the whole power outlet.
It gives me a better feeling to know I don't have 230V on any cables, so my dog can't get hurt if he gets the idea to start chewing on something.

About 12 months ago the TV started to have the following problem: when pressing anything on the RC to get it on, the red led would go off.

          Sometimes it would turn...

          Samsung PL42C450 plasma X-Main IGBTs
          by Biruslapio
Hello, the problem with this TV is it has all the Y and X voltages, but does not produce any image.

It had a TON of cracked solder joints on these boards, fixed all that I could find, but in the last test I forgot to plug in the Y-SUS to control board flat cable, it was left dangling and possibly some pins shorted to the panel metal ground, the X-Main buzzed quietly then blew up in 3 seconds after powering up, annoying.

Two RJH30E2 shorted, they are 360V 35A 1.7VCE IGBTs, the problem is I don't have any 360V IGBTs, only 300V or 600V, would two RJP3065 fit in? It's...

Concerns before attempting a Reflow of Laptop's GPU
          by Mr_Nada
I saw some posts at one point talking about doing a reflow but I couldn't find them again so I thought that I would post this here.

I plan on reflowing the GPU of this old HP DV2500 laptop but I want to go over what I have and the steps I have to take to guarantee it will come out fine.

I have a Yihua 8786D 2in1 Rework station, flux (just some paste that I got from an old Radioshack kit), a couple rolls of Kapton tape and a $15 Thermometer +probe (a TM902C from EMR shielding Solutions if its important).
          • The paper that came with the thermometer states that the probe

Attempting Data Recovery WD20EARS series HDD Reads as 0 byte drive.
          by abajor
I was wondering if there is a knowledge base on troubleshooting HDD failures and when it might be viable to try certain repair/recovery techniques.
I recently got a WD20EARS 2TB Drive from a customer in hopes of retrieving data. The drive reads as zero size, I can't hear any head activity but it does appear the platter is spinning I can feel some gyroscopic action picking up the drive.

As a shot it the dark I bought a donor board and swapped the rom chip. Same issue zero byte drive.

I'm assuming that the armature is no longer functional internally so no data can...

Plasma Y board IGBT equivalency question
          by Biruslapio
I have two TVs here with both Y-SUS failures, one LG and one Samsung.
The Samsung's Y-main shorted one FGD4536 and one RJP63K2(there are two in parallel)

I have the FGD but I only have one RJP63F3, which is different from the K2, so, can two 30J124 be put in place of two RJP63K2? are they equivalent?

Also for the LG two 30F131 shorted, I have some FGD4536 (the same that are used on the samsung), can they be also be a substitute without issues?

RJP63F3 and K2 are 630V 30A IGBTs, but their rise/fall time and other internal variants differ.
