I have a dead Samsung PN51D450A2D I am trying to help a coworker with. What I have found out is as follows. When you plug it up to power you hear a click of the relay. When the back is off and you hit power you see a red LED close to the digital audio jack on the main board with the other jacks. From a search I think this is called a
Main Board BN96-19471A , BN41-01608A.
You also see a flashing green light on the board almost in the center just above the stand where a lot of ribbon cables plug in. I did a search and found it called a T-CON Board LJ41-09475A.
From searching other repairs on this model the TV not turning on it looks to be either the main power supply or the Main Board BN96-19471A , BN41-01608A with all the jacks. I did try to find a voltage on the power supply board but did not get any, I think its more of a issue I didn't check the right spot.
With that said and it does click, have the red light and also the green light that cuts on and off I am thinking the main board. Before I tell the fellow to get this board does anyone have suggestions on this? If anyone has suggestions on checking voltage where would I need to check? I tried to the jacks with pin probes on my meter to get in there but I never seemed to get a voltage. When I use to work on TV sets you still had picture tubes, other tubes and plug in boards. I do work on computer hardware but I am rusty on tv sets and forgot most troubleshooting on them.
