  • Re: Emerson\Funai alc320emxf will not power on

I got it going! I have a storage closet for junk parts. I work mostly on computers and printers so I looked in there thinking a power supply might have one. I found a xerox printer board that had one. I replaced the bad one with one from the xerox power supply. It worked. I am bench testing it but I think it will be fine as long as something else didn't cause the sb390 to go out. Thanks for the help.

  • Re: Emerson\Funai alc320emxf will not power on

The diode itself is .1 ohm, With the leads and diode it has a total of .4 ohms. I took off the .3 ohm of the leads. That was reading at the lowest ohm scale on a digital meter. I got the time to take one lead of each diode off the board and measure it. One of the sb390 diodes measured similar to other diodes, higher one way than the other. The other sb390 diode, part d641 with one lead out of the circuit checked out at .1 ohm both ways. So I think this is the culprit. What was throwing me off was that they are installed in parallel....

  • Emerson\Funai alc320emxf will not power on

I have a TV that is labeled Emerson on the front but Funai on the model label. It says it is alc320emxf. The issue it is having is that it has now lights or power when turning on. I checked the switch and I get contact when pressed. I checked out what I think is the main power board and on the 2 wire plug it has around 160 volts constant. That plug connects to what I think is the inverter board. I also checked the main diodes and fuse, they checked fine with a ohmmeter from what I can tell. I did find two sb390 Schottky barrier diodes at d641 and d642 that ohm out to .1 ohm. I don't remember the...

Update on this TV. From the info here and suggested we ordered the main board. It will now power on and you can hear sound but no picture. Before all we heard was a relay click then it went off. Now you can cut it on and get the red power light to come on and stays on . The board I think that is called the logic board that connects to the main and then to the x and y boards has a green light that flashes on and off, but when you hit the power button on the remote the red light on the front comes on but that green light on the logic quits flashing. I have...

Thanks for the replies. As far as what it looks like it is exactly like this one from another post here from what I can tell.

From what tvtimmy said its the ymain board, is this the Main Board BN96-19471A that has the input and output jacks antenna connections? From what I have dug up it seems that what other posts and sites say. I am way too rusty on TVs and they changed so much from when I use to work on them.Re: Samsung PN51D450A2D

    Thanks

  • Samsung PN51D450A2D

I have a dead Samsung PN51D450A2D I am trying to help a coworker with. What I have found out is as follows. When you plug it up to power you hear a click of the relay. When the back is off and you hit power you see a red LED close to the digital audio jack on the main board with the other jacks. From a search I think this is called a
    Main Board BN96-19471A , BN41-01608A.

You also see a flashing green light on the board almost in the center just above the stand where a lot of ribbon cables plug in. I did a search and found it called a T-CON Board LJ41-09475A.

  • Re: SONY KDL-55EX500 issue

Well I got it in. I took it apart and as far as I can tell it works fine. I did notice that a plug going to what looks to be the power supply from the board that has the inputs may have been loose. I re seated it and that may have been the issue. I have it on the bench now and will run it today. Thanks for the info.

  • SONY KDL-55EX500 issue

Recently I am getting back into TVs after not working on them since the 90s. I have one at work and this is what I have been told about it. The TV powers on and green indicator light comes on and stays on, but no image is projected onto the screen. Changing inputs and other settings options make no difference. The only way to get the green light to go off is to unplug power from TV.

Has anyone seen this issue before and if so what fixed the issue. I have yet to see it but I was wondering what to look for. I usually work on computer hardware and printers but now they have me looking...

  • Re: Sony KDL55EX720 TV

Thanks folks. I looked at the caps and saw no bulging or leaking. I may have to bring in my cap meter from home to test them. I got to looking at the service manual and tried to reseat the T-CON plugs and it had no change. I will try the HEM2 board next. I am not at work today so I will try in a few days.

  • Sony KDL55EX720 TV

I have a Sony KDL55EX720 TV I am having a issue with. I have worked on TVs in the past but that was over 20 years ago so I am relearning them. This TV will start up fine and work for about 5 minutes. Then it shuts itself off and the red light blinks 10 times. I did a search here but all I could find was 5 blinks. I did find a link to the service manual and it pointed to the T-CON board and a issue with the emitter. My question is does this sound like a good place to start and will it be worth putting money in it. Also does anyone know a seller of these boards that takes a P.O. ? I work in a school...
