Hi it's been a while since I posted. I haven't messed with TVs for a while now since they became so inexpensive.
However, I just picked up this free 50", 3D LED smart TV that seems worth it. It's clean and has all its accessories included even 4 sets of 3D glasses.
He told me the TV died after a thunderstorm and other equipment in his house died at the same time.
I'm pretty sure it's the main board. I have 3.3v standby voltage and that's it. PWR ON is zero even when pressing the power button.
My question is: Is there any chance on troubleshooting the main board and repairing it? They are expensive and there aren't many out there to buy. I've only found a couple of them on ebay and that is IT!
What usually burns on main boards on a lightning strike? I do not see any visible damage at all.
I attached pic of the main board.
One last question: Do you think it's worth buying a main board for $160 for this set?
Thanks!!!
