Sony Tcon Repair Kit RUNTK5261TPZK KDL-70R520A

Was given this repair kit to install but the customer lost the instructions. We both messaged the ebay seller and they haven't responded. Actual board is slightly different rev ZH but looks very similar.

Kit contains a driver IC, fuse and three SOT23 parts.

On the board, there are 3 SOT 23's marked XOVV, COXA, and X7UV.

    The kit contains a UDSW6, X7HV and K72 (2N7002, NCH, 60V, 0.21A)

Assuming the X7's are the same. COXA is identified in another thread as likely bad and cross-referenced to A03460 (NCH, 60V, 0.65A) so shoudn't be replaced by a 0.21A FET. By elimination, UDSW6 should replace COXA but can't be sure without identifiying either XOVV or UDSW6.

Sorry, that has nothing to do with the markings. I tought I can zoom in the 1080p video and get the markings

Yes this helps. Video says the COXA part is suspect. Measuring drain to source resistance I get 2.8 ohms instead of open which confirms this part needs to be replaced. The video also indicates 75% of this failure is caused by a bad panel.

This thread applies which uses the same panel

I would love to hear about your progress (if or when you make any)
I think this would help a lot of people in the future with t-con problems.

The person I was helping insisted on replacing the tcon anyway since he indicated it was repaired before. Couldn't convince him the fault was in the panel causing the tcon to blow transistors. Too difficult working with him since he also had given me the repair kit without telling me he lost the instructions. I did see the same model TV posted on CL with same problem but now know it is repairable.

The referenced thread indicates a suitable replacement for COXA is RTR020N05TLCT (45V, 2A) available at Digikey.

Ebay seller is probably ignoring us because they know the repair kit fixes the board and NOT the TV.

If I get it right, in a few days/weeks you will have in your hands a perfectly functioning t-con. Then if you would be so kind, could you make a few good quality photos of each? I am just curious, would like to compare the two.
Sorry to hear, that it is difficult to move forward because of other negligent people.
              Cheers, Janos

No. The guy was going to buy another tcon and replace it himself since he only brought me the tcon and repair kit. There are different revs of this board. ZH was the one I had. Repair kit mentions it is for ZK or ZJ. From my pic, you will notice an added 10K resistor on COXA but unsure if this was added afterwards or during manufacture.

Sony 8K XBR-75Z8H White Screen Vertical Bars Tcon Code. Help Needed🙏
                  by Daren87
                  Hello everyone,

I've recently been given a Sony 8k Z8H. It's got a white screen with two vertical black bars. At times it's given me the 5 blink Tcon code. Testing voltage on the Tcon I can see some low or missing voltage. I've done a basic visual check of cables and the COF. Not seeing anything obvious. The original Tcon seemed to have good caps until turning it over. On the bottom I found maybe 10 caps with both sides of the caps shorting to ground. I thought ok these caps and likely other components on the Tcon are shorted so let's try a replacement Tcon. I just received the...

Sony KD-75XF9005 grey Picture but Sound. TCON or panel?
                  by iglitare
                  Hi,

i want to repair a Sony KD-75XF9005 TV that initially only showed a grey picture.
Backlight seems to work, Sound (Setup menu after reset) works.
If i dissconnect the left FFC cable from TCON to panel i have half a screen on the right. If left cable is connected always only the grey screen.
Interchanged the cables, its always only the right side that is working. Always grey if left side is connected.
With my small knowledge i would think at least the cables are good.

Can this happen because of a bad tcon board?
Or is it always a bad/shorted...

LG 82UN8570AUD ~ TCON or PANEL?
                  by kca
                  Hello all ~

Hope this finds you well. This LG 82UN8570AUD (April 2021 model) 4K UHD television has full audio capabilities but video is compromised / problematic.

When I picked up this large LG tv it had a full black screen upon startup. Previous owner said it just went black one day. No popping sound or anything else of note.

I got the display to work by taping off several traces of the right-hand side ribbon cable on the TCON that leads from TCON to PANEL. However, despite dozens and dozens of attempts to find the right combination / range of traces taped...

                  Sony KD-55X9000F TCON Issue
                  by thelankanguy
The TV shows a black screen with no image.
TCON ribbon connectors were disconnected individually for image and there was no half image even.
Later both ribbons were disconnected and TCON voltages were tested.
12V, 3.3V, 1.8V were seen present but VONE signal reads 0V.
There is also a short to ground in this circled inductor.
Is this a TCON issue or something else ?...

                  Sony KD-55AG9 TCON?
                  by bbrain
                  Hi,

I have this problem with my Sony 55' AG9.
                  It flashes 4x.
I have found the service manual, and seems it is the TCON.

Before I buy a TCON can someone check the vid?

                  Thanks in advance!...
