Repairs in Africa

I had a customer bring me a led tv. It doesn't matter what the model # is because my question is not about the tv. It is a 55 inch led Samsung tv. He told me he could send it to Africa for 50.00 from Bloomington, IL. Have it fixed for 25.00 Then 50.00 for return shipping. I don't believe him. Please tell me this isn't possible. If it is possible, please tell me how i can do it.

On eBay US I sometimes see a board at a reasonable price but the postage to Oz is just ridiculous - just like our is for packages. Perhaps its one of those scams "give us $50 and the TV " no further problems !!

If your customer can do that, why does he come to you first place? I would send him and his TV their mary way to Africa. The TV would also have to be properly packaged so the LCD doesn't brake, insurance, etc.

Is he being asked to ship the TV to Nigeria by any chance? Sounds like a version of the Nigerian scam where if you send money, you'll be rewarded with a bargain basement repair. He'll be asked to send the money up front, $100 for shipping and $25 for the repair claiming they'll send him a prepaid shipping label for the TV. Needless to say, you can kiss your money goodbye. You can't ship a TV to Africa for $50 and get a $25 repair without knowing what the problem is.

Just let the customer do it and let him learn the hard lesson.
He is expecting you to fix the TV for $25?
