The 4 VFG floating ground screws on the SU/SD boards. Looks like there is contact at those points with the SC board. So, those 4 screws removed and note cards slid between the boards at those points to insulate.

I did the test where SC50 is shorted and the ground screws are removed and the boards were separated with some note cards and I got 7 blinks again.

I then followed the SU/SD/SC Short Circuit/Low Resistance Test flowchart and saw low resistance (about 150 Ohms) when testing IC724 with SC41/SU41 disconnected. With both SC41/SU41 and SC42/SD42 disconnected I saw no short and infinite resistance. I then connected only SC41/SU41 (leaving SC42/SD42 disconnected) and saw around 1600 Ohms.

I believe this says the SD board is bad?
You have a american version of the tv , so you got different board but the basics is the same. Could you please take a picture of the back of the tv with all boards and a picture of the SC board? Please take a high resolution picture of the complete SC board and put it in this thread.

You can attach pictures using the advanced option and the paperclip.

Ps , if you want to test the SU/SD boards then take them OUT of the tv and put the meter in continuity mode. Black prope on ground of the SU/SD board and slide the red prope against the pins of the connectors. Beep is bad.

You need to short the white connector on the sc board to turn the tv on without the bufferboards.

OK, I've attached the images. I couldn't get the whole TV in the frame, so I took pictures of each area.

          Thanks!

Ok the SCBOARD is almost the same but this one has heatsinks. Please follow my instructions!

Funny that the american version has less boards in the tv , looks like a LED :o

First disconnect the 2 bufferboards from the SC board. So remove the 4 big screws and put some cards/paper or anything that does not let any current through between the sc board and bufferboards. If possible fip the buffer boards out of the tv but be carefull......
Put a HD jumper or screw in the SC50 connector ( see picture ) and turn the tv on. Does it stay on? If yes then your SU/SD board is bad.

If it shuts down with 7 blinks again make sure the SC50 connector is shorted correctly. Still 7 blinks? Follow instructions below.

The picture quality is not that good so i cant see the names on the fet. Search for 30F131/RJP30H2A.

Please put the meter in continuity mode ( beep ) and put the propes on the legs that i have marked in the second picture. If you hear a beep it is bad.
These parts usually fail on this board but i see there are different screws then the original screws in this tv? Did you do this?

You need to measure EVERY fet on the SC board in continuity mode. They are marked with "Q" , for example Q403 , Again measure the outer legs , beep is bad.
There are also parts on the board labeled with "D" , they are diodes so you need to measure them differently.

If 30F131 or RJP30H2A read short there is a good chance the RF1501 and DAF30 read short. They only read short because the fets in the same circuit are bad.

            Let me know the outcome.

If you dont have 30F131 or RJP30H2A then look at the components on the heatsinks. They are probably also labeled as "Q" and measure the outer legs.

DG302 or 30F131 or RJP30H2A are all fets and need to be measured in continuity mode on the OUTER legs.

The screws were replaced under warranty shortly after I purchased the TV as I was getting a buzzing from that side.

I tested all the DG301s (marked Q4XX) and all the 30F131s (marked Q6XX) and they were not shorted. I also found 3 RJP30K3s on the heatsinks and those test fine too. However, the 2 RF1501s that I found did read short on the outer legs - but those are diodes (D401 and D402), right? You said those should be tested differently?

                Thanks!

                  Re: Panasonic TC-P60ST30 - 7 blinks, then 8

Ok , so you either got a short somewhere on the SC board or the A board is giving a bad diagnosis.

                  1) What happens when you put the black probe on the middle pin and the red prope on either the left or right leg? No beep there?
                  2) Yes you need to test the diode differently. Black prope middle leg and red on either left or right leg as described above. You can do this test also with the fets , maybe just 1 part of the fet is shorted.(Q).

Could you please remove the sc20 cable and powercable from the sc board and put the probes on the white prong connector. Does it beep? Try it both ways.
You did remove the buffferboards completely from the scboard right?

Ps , you can test the same components on the SS board. (Q) red/black probe on outer legs. (D) black probe on middle pin , red on outer legs.

Also i have to say that on the picture the solder on the pins look very bad. Could you check if the solder looks ok? Especially the Q401 near the capacitor.

Please add some solder on the pins , compared to the others they look really bad.

Alright... to continue this saga, I never found a FET or IC that tested bad but the diagnostic flow charts seemed to indicate my SC and SD board were bad. I got an SC and SD board off of eBay that were pulls from a supposedly working Plasma of my same model. I put these boards in and I now have a picture! No more 7 blinks... BUT - check out the attached pictures I've got a thin horizontal line of black on the bottom and a thick vertical line of black with some weird color in it. What's going on here?

                      Thanks for all the help!

well, the horizontal line is likely caused by the corresponding cable from the lower buffer board not being seated properly/or damaged..Now for the vertical bar...Oh dear...Looks like a faulty display panel..

                          Hello

I am having a similar issue with my panny.
I get the 7 blinks but if I power off the tv and back on the tv works for a while and after a while I get the 7 blinks again. This happens until the tv wont turn on at all just get the 7 blinks.

I disconnected the su board to test it and found nothing wrong with it, but after I re-connected it the tv works again for a few days and then I get the 7 blinks again. I have replaced the su board with a supposedly working one but again after a few days it starts intermittently shutting down with the 7 blinks.

Has anyone come across this problem? it makes it hard to test the boards. I am wondering where to start looking.

                          thanks for any help

Judging by your description of the issue and randomness of the issue, I would check all soldering on the PS and su board. If everything is OK, check the connectors and the capacitors.
It looks like a bad contact somewhere, but that's just a starting point for your search. A lot more details are needed if you want the very experienced guys here to help.

Remove the SC and SS boards and look at the ground connections, (where the screws are) Do they look like they were arcing, ie black, clean the chassis and clean or apply new solder to the ground connections on the boards, see if that helps.
Make sure ALL the screws are in and fairly tight.

Hello! yes I know there is already lots of information about this issue. I have a Panasonic TC-P55ST50 that originally displayed an 8-blink error code. Following the troubleshooting flowchart, I ended up replacing the SS board. However, even after replacing it, the issue persists. The TV turns on and stays on without displaying an image, and continuity is confirmed on all connectors. What am I missing here🤔?
Ok Im a mechanical engineer ...but I thought I was able to follow a rather simple flowchart for electric troubleshooting 😂.

                                by Biruslapio
Bought this TV used not working, panel flashed briefly on power up and it was blinking 8 times, a quick look on SS board revealed a common fault on the 3uF 250V capacitors, C201 to C205 (C1620X in the service manual), the solder joints were all cracked, C201 and C205 pins were darkened and some sparking had occurred on them, C201 was split open and clearly overheated in its last hours, replaced that one and resoldered the others, 8 blinks fixed.

Also the previous owner broke the antenna connector by taking the TV out of the wall mount forgetting to unplug it, I desoldered the tuner...

                                Hi,
anyone able to provide the service manual for old plasma Panasonic TX-P42ST50E?
It turns off almost immediately (0~5 seconds after pressing the on/off button) and starts flashing the red diode 6 times.
I disconnected the left-hand side board (SC?, both the ribbon cable and the power cable to it) and also another ribbon going to bottom left board. Then the led signal is 8 flashes. According to service guide to another Panasonic plasma it would mean the left-hand side board is faulty. But I'm not sure it 100% applies to my model.
I checked that board for any obvious faults...

                                Hello,

Stopped by this site trying to fix my parents Panasonic Plasma TV.

                                Model number is TH-50PZ85U

Power comes on and the red power light stays on solid.

Did a few checks like hold the power button on for 60 seconds, hold the - Volume while holding the menu button, no luck, still@ blank grey screen as the screen lights up very vague.
